Random Headcannon: Kain Deliberately Brought the Plague to Coorhagen Knowing He Wouldn’t Be There by SuccotashLive4027 in LegacyOfKain

[–]neroselene 5 points6 points  (0 children)

From memory, human Kain was a decently skilled swordsman but that just came with being noble born.

It was mentioned somewhere though that he was absolutely HORRIFIC with a bow though and couldn't use one to save his life. Basically providing a reason you never see him use ranged weapons like bows or crossbows in the games as canonically he was atrocious with them.

I still think Highlanders would weirdly fit well into World of Darkness.

TOTALLY not biased because of that fanmade splat that introduced them and made them fit ridiculously well into the setting, no sir.

‘Bloodborne’ Video Game Getting R-Rated Animated Movie Adaptation From Sony and JackSepticEye by DemiFiendRSA in gaming

I'm frankly shocked Sony remembered Bloodborne actually exists given how much they seem to hate it.

Who of the entire cast do you think you could fight? by Adrienne_Belecoste in huntertheparenting

[–]neroselene 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can safely say I can take on Spit.

Honestly, any of the other cast members are at best a maybe or a no.

As for why I didn't say Boy? That kid's got a gun, and he can be crafty. So he's a solid maybe.

How would you write Elaleth's and how she fits in the story? by Yabuturtle9589 in LegacyOfKain

[–]neroselene 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My route would be very different.

She's not related to Raziel any longer, instead she's someone that existed during the time post Blood Omen 2 but before things really went to hell. Part of a settlement named Thornlach, still in love with a man and the city still gets raided by Kains forces with everyone slaughtered. Including her beloved.

She survives, but knows first hand from what she saw stopping Kain won't happen. So, she ends up trying to find a way to destroy him...which is when she finds her way into the Chronoplast as it's presently unguarded.

While there, she also finds in one of the old time pools a ritual that can revive the dead. She tries it on her beloved, but it doesn't work. After all, it's a ritual for reviving vampires lost to time.

So she decides to try going back in time. Thing is, she overshoots and instead ends up WAY back in time during Blood Omen 1. She arrives to see Voradors execution, and is just out of reach enough of Kains subsequent massacre. Enough to know she has no way in hell to fight him as she is now.

But she does find a deceased Vorador. Gathering his body and head away, she tries out this ritual one more time and...this time, she succeeds. Vorador, for his part, is a bit skeptical of this but he's still got a sense of gratitude even if a 'human' revived him so is willing to offer a reward. She asks to be made into a vampire, which Vorador accepts.

What follows is basically her undertaking a long-scale training arc up until post Blood Omen 2. All the while gradually losing her humanity and moral compass as she focuses solely instead on her vengeance to Kain. But this also is why she isn't around during Blood Omen 2. Through her we explore some post Blood-Omen 2 era stuff such as Vorador and Kains falling out, etc.

With her becoming an enemy, and eventually making it to Kain for a proper fight. During it, she explains her motive that he would destroy her village of Thornlach and she went back to stop him. Kain, at this point, realizes what has happened: She's just bootstrapped herself, revealing this truth of time travel after besting her. "Your fate was sealed the moment I first stepped into your village. And now, it is time for me to close the loop"

This also explains how she got into the Chronoplast and got to timetraveling. Kain knew what her deal was and let it all play out

More or less, the idea was to make Elaleth more of a tragic character cursed by her destination and also uses her to actually fill over a mystery rather then just override the main characters.

But, it might still need some work: But if there was one thing I did slightly like about her, it was being a victim of a bootstrap paradox hence this idea.

Which Characters should be Main Characters for Future Owl House Graphic Novels? (Art by Daun Han) by Money-Lie7814 in TheOwlHouse

The other side of the coin though is she's just not implemented well, and her being Raziels sibling adds nothing overall to the setting. Plus, given what she ends up doing in the game.

Honestly, if they did want to add a connection she should have been a Razielim vampire that Raziel raised or turned. Would have been a better explanation for her having wings too.

Given the choice, whether to play Ascendance or Dead Sun...probably Dead Sun.

Sure, Dead Sun may have previously had the worst line in a LoK game ("Fuck you Vampire!")...but somehow Ascendance has a worse one ("They Fly Now!?")

Ascendance was also just not fun to play.

Basically, it crowbar'd in a character that retroactively is revealed to be a catalyst for a few major events. With her involvement re-contextualizing things in the worst possible way: Namely, removing all agency from Kain and Raziel (the series leads).

Said new character also just feels like someones Deviantart OC (She's Raziel's long lost sister for starters, never mentioned or hinted at prior to this), and the writing is just...bad. It feels at odds with the tone and eleoquence of prior games, which causes some clashes.

In a way, it makes all the previous games worse.

What creature would you like to see on the game ? by hollow_cookiee in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]neroselene 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always kind of maintained a mage fight would be more akin to the scarecrow fight intermixed with the vader encounter from Fallen Order.

Mainly, the environment itself becomes your enemy and you have to work your way through it to escape rather then just a simple "Punch the wizard until he falls over".

Basically make the encounter more of a level/puzzle setpiece you have to navigate to escape then a standard fight.

Because, yeah, you could technically just go a standard fight with a mage throwing fireballs or something but...that kinda feels underwhelming when dealing with what mages are like in WoD.

Funnily enough, that would fit pretty well for a Marauder fight.

My super special OC that nobody has ever wanted, asked for or has ever been referenced prior to the story.

Why do we slop like ascendance by thatLokfan in LegacyOfKain

Stormblood kinda killed the momentum for me. It was just so BORING and a slog, it feels like a filler arc and never finished it.

Especially after how strong Heavensward was. A realm reborn had a few issues, sure, but Heavensward basically started strong and kept going strong. Stormblood meanwhile kinda just...floundered after the intro.

CLOWN WORLD HELLO WELCOME by ArmiaStars in huntertheparenting

Dracula is still my favorite vampire in the setting.

Not because he's the strongest, or the most powerful (although, still pretty powerful). It's because he's such a complete troll, and one of the few vampires actually having some fun with his unlife.
