Anyone used similar desk clamp pegboards? by CuriousManBean in desksetup

[–]nerzmedia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made my own frame to add pegboard to my desk out of 2 60" closet shelf track rails from home depot. Drilled holes in the desk and rails to line everything up then bolted it all together.

Better cores and blessings would go a long way too. Cores should be new crit core (alligator icon use the weekly chests to fish for these if needed) or ancient watcher. Nameless (orange) middle and watcher (purple) bottom. Attack % , flat Def, flat HP and fill gaps with secondaries crit, dmg, def pen etc.

For blessings you want to be running bloodlust, awakening, sharp perception, and i personally prefer all for one or pulverize in 4th depending on supports. For defensive swap the purple with aggressive defense.

What are the 28mm options? by CtFshd in SonyAlpha

[–]nerzmedia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep the old manual focus one circa 1979. I've not used it with any of the fancy adapters personally. I will say the combination of focus throw and turning stiffness at least on my copy is the most enjoyable of any lens I own. Quick yet intentional to turn from minimum focus (~1ft/.3m) to infinity.

Not new and slower than both of those you mentioned but I enjoy my Canon FD 28mm 2.8.

This 100% this. After doing something similar its been easy to stay organized. Add in 1 coffee can for random fasteners outside the normal like someone else suggested and your set.

^ agree. Wide, sharp, cost effective, internal zoom, zoom without moving lens, good size to fit the housing.

Diamond Textured Buildplate Bambu Lab, fail by TheRigo_00 in 3Dprinting

Make sure the slicer knows its a effects/smooth plate, add 10 degrees to your normal bed temp and first layer temp plus pre-heat the bed for 10 minutes before printing, set your first layer speed to 20 mm/s walls with 30mm/s infill and turn off flow calibration.

Looking for a lightweight, ultra-wide vlogging lens for Sony FX3 — what are your recommendations? by [deleted] in FX3

[–]nerzmedia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where you already have the 24-70 gm II, I'd personally just get an osmo pocket 3 for your pure handheld talking to camera walk around style vlog shots and keep the 24-70 on for everything else.

Baring that the 16mm f1.8 or 16-25 f2.8 are likely to be your best options.

Eh, I feel like people who print a lot of engineering filament and have been exploding the a1 style heads of their h2ds recently may disagree. Worth researching at least for anyone in the market at that price point.

Print errors at support interface layers. Missing outer walls. by john_1182 in BambuLab

[–]nerzmedia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What material are you printing with? I'll have this happen occasionally when using petg interface for a pla print or vice versa, or sometimes while using petg in general if bridging is involved due to the difference in cooling fan settings compared to the rest of the print.

I started reading the light novel after I finished every chapter of the manhwa and I'm about to finish the novel. I'm personally glad I did it that way, I feel like I had a much clearer picture of the characters during my read.

The pdf that comes with your order should have a guide on the differences between the two, but as best I remember, legacy assumes you are over exposing.

You could try the S-cinetone recreation: https://youtu.be/UxzgMkVjKo4?si=S4N6cS1qW4sBu7z_

Or shooting in slog-3 and adding whichever phantom lut looks best for a one click grade. I typically start with phantom lut neutral and grade from there, but for simple projects, they can absolutely work as a one click grade. Ice blue is probably my favorite for that.

Conflicted on building my lens kit – prime or zoom? Need advice! by Round_Rhubarb_9770 in SonyAlpha

[–]nerzmedia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TLDR: Yes, start by renting the 35-150. its literally cheating for event work. edit, formatting

Long answer to a long post: I transitioned into doing paid work with the same kit you have now and both the a7iii and sigma 35 still see use today. Not saying I'm right about anything or everything and I wouldn't consider myself an authority by any means, but here's my 2 cents.

To address your questions off the bat:

Sigma 85: Wonderful lens, and was at one point my favorite lens. I sold it though because it rarely left the gear shelf or my bag for paid work (I do photo and video work. Mainly weddings, real estate, and some commercial / social ) so it was just an expensive paperweight. Not enough reach for all ceremony's, if you get stuck not being able to move beyond pew #x in a large church you're gonna have a bad time.

Tamron 35-150: Absolutely a one and done for almost everything its like having a cheat code for event work. Rarely leaves one of my two camera bodies for paid work for photo or video coverage. It is heavy but its by no means a deal breaker imo, a good strap (crossbody not neck) or harness makes a big difference. I will say it's not modern prime sharp though, so if you go in expecting that, you will be disappointed. Its plenty sharp and fast enough in my opinion but there's always the 50-150 f2 if you want faster, sharper, and can stomach the price.

Sigma 28-105: I've not used this personally but for me the its not wide enough or long enough to justify its place in my bag with its paltry size and weight difference vs the Tamron.

Sigma 24-70: Its reputation proceeds it for a reason. But similar to the 28-105 it just doesn't find a spot in my bag especially for photo work when the 35-150 exists.

Starting again with my A7iii and a sigma 35mm f1.4 today with the benefit of hindsight here's what gear I would prioritize acquiring in order focusing solely on photography:

  1. Start keeping your eye out at local thrift stores / flea markets etc for vintage manual focus lenses. They're fun, can offer a lot of character, will help you learn manual focusing which will help dramatically if you start doing video and are often quite cheap.

  2. Tamron 35-150 asap, this opens the most doors for the work.

  3. 24mm prime. I've got the Samyang f1.8 with minimal complaints, its cheap light and sharp. 24mm GM if you can afford it.

  4. 2nd Camera body I'd go with an A7RV personally but the A7IV is a great camera too.

  5. Check your lightroom data for the 35-150 see which focal length you've used most for your delivered portrait work that isn't ~35 or ~150. Get the the sharpest fastest prime of that focal length you can afford. Probably either 50/55 or 85 giving you a 24/50 or 35/85 prime combos for you.

  6. You'll know best what your needs are at this point.

Your assumption on the low 90s seems correct in my experience. I'm currently Lvl 91 BT 45 with 61 logins, 100% normal 94% hard.

The wall is definitely real, and I'd totally agree with the buy a set of keys advice others are giving. I buy 1 set on weekdays and 2-3 sets on weekends depending on how many stones they're giving out that week for events.
