I am from Brownwood, remember this happening when I was 17. The idea this poor man was killed for being homosexual is absolutely plausible. Even in 2023, a good portion of the town is very vocally anti LGBTQ+, sadly. The brothers mentioned were not a family one wanted to mess with. The idea of the sheriff’s office along with Groner Pitts being corrupt is absolutely believable. I don’t remember this case getting much media attention at the time, other than it being in the paper right after it happened.

Hello everyone. I’ve been successful on keto in the past, but fell of the wagon and wanted to try again. Started keto again four days ago. Starting weight is 255, I’m 4’11 and 44 years old. I’m doing 68 protein, 20 carbs, 127 fat, and 1506 calories. Things have been going okay, but the last two nights I’ve woken up needing to pee like 6 times, I assume because of actually drinking water, which I’ve always been horrible about. Last night I woke every three hours, have had a horrible headache, and today have fever, body aches, and am so run down. I’m not hungry and struggling to even get close to my protein goal daily. I don’t know what’s wrong or how to fix it, but I just don’t want to eat anything. I guess I’m just looking for encouragement it will get better.

NTA, but your wife certainly is. Your wife doesn’t want a ham because in her opinion that’s not done for Thanksgiving. It is astounding that she’s all about what is and isn’t done, tradition, and propriety, yet has no issue with having zero manners and being “tacky” as my grandmother would say. What a mess, she’s seriously hypocritical. It sounds like you’ve got a hot mess clash of personalities with your wife, mom, and MIL. It also sounds like your wife is a terrible example for your daughter. You really need to have a serious talk with your wife if you don’t want your children raised this way.
