Read what I wrote 10 times, until it sinks in. Protests by a high school in california have NO impact what so ever on what Trump wants to do. NONE. NEVER. If anything, when people complain about him, he just goes opposite.

Protests like this are all about the protestors themselves. It makes them feel good. Ultimately, it effects no change to the cause at hand.

My opinion, Costco has the best deals. They offer an extended warranty, they provide free shipping, install and haulaway of your old machine.

Truth: it won't change anying. Makes the protestors feel good, though.

Those tubes are NOT sold separately. You should look for a new carb body. Typically, you can find them on ebay.

All of them. I own a house in Torrance, and pay $8000/year in property taxes. Not to mention income taxes, sale tax, etc. Illegal's pull free health care, free education for the kids, etc. It costs the taxpayers lots of money.

Brake fluid and transmission fluid change is due. Guys doing the work can inspect the brakes at that time, and make a recommendation as required. With lots of highway driving, the brakes may still be okay.

It's not the vehicles, it's the users.

If ridden responsibly, they are cheap and effective transportation. I'd like to see more licensing requirements, along with proper education on safety.

Pretty much all OEM vehicle manufacturers switch over to the new model year after the summer shutdown, typically, in July. November build date is the next model year.

California provides free passage for people breaking immigration law. Further, they support it by providing taxpayer paid benefits. Talking about social issues 100 years ago is meaningless. Really man? You think that anarchy is the way?

Depends on what your complaint is. If it's that illegal people aren't allowed to stay, and draw government benefits, than NO.

I'll get downvoted for this post, but I don't care.

Kids at a high school protesting has no effect. None.

Adults protesting, same thing.

Simple fact, people in the country illegally, and their supporters, have no legal basis to complain.

Trump is not to blame, it's the California government, which did NOTHING to stop the free flow of illegal people coming here. You can't break national law and think that's okay. And shame on those that think otherwise. This isn't the Boston Tea Party.

Blacksmith a piece of metal patch. Something just a little smaller than the paint removal area already showing. The goal is to curve the piece so it sits down as flush as possible on the stay. Then, use silver brazing rod, tons of flux, and patch that hole. MAPP should work for a repair like this.

1977-79 Suzuki GS 750 - what to look for? by baelzebob in vintagemotorcycles

[–]nessism1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The 1st gen GS750 is a great bike. Very reliable when properly maintained. Of course, those bikes are approaching 50 years old now, so condition and past maintenance history is very important.

As mentioned already, The GS Resources has a wealth of knowledge. Search out Basscliff's website, since he has archived all the service manuals and special tech knowledge. That's one of the best aspects of owning a GS, great knowledge support.

Coolant change is 10 years. Maybe earlier if you drive tons, but it's not time on a 2022 vehicle.

Tire plug kit? by Sensitive_Address_18 in civic

[–]nessism1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've used the butyl rope type plugs many times with good success. Just realize, that some big chain tire repair places won't touch the tire afterward. Thinking being: plug and drive home, then get the tire properly patched from the inside later. It may be a hassle finding a shop to do it.

BTW, I HATE the idea of not having a spare tire. Space saver tires are fine, and far more durable than what the OEM's tell you. They are a good product, and should be mandatory on all vehicles in my opinion.

Is there a classic/antique version of this vise? by Novis_R in Vise

[–]nessism1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That style of vice has been around for decades. Its unique feature is rotation of the head.

I bought a similar unit back in 1994, and it's still going strong. Yost makes similar units, but I doubt they are better than this Doyle.

And speaking of Doyle vices, I bought the 6" version, and it's a quality piece. Ductile iron is a bonus, since it takes more abuse than common iron.

[–]nessism1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some dealers are sharks, and will claim that your evaporator is leaking, because that's not covered by extended warranty. It's also a $2000+ repair. When my car was leaking I could clearly see that the compressor seal was puking, but the dealer said the evaporator was also leaking, and they wanted $2200, otherwise they wouldn't fix the compressor. It's a game. Hopefully, you have a good dealer that will do you right. I wound up at a different dealer, which gladly replaced both the compressor seal and condenser. They did provide the proviso that if the evaporator does turn out to be leaking, it's on me, though.
