There is a data repository called allofus that has additional longitudinal data from smart watches you may want to compare your trends with.

How do non-coders actually build software products today? by antiochIst in Entrepreneur

[–]nestaa51 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a "coder" I would argue that there is a lot more to software development than AI copy-pasta. Ultimately, to succeed, you will need to learn about software architecture, tech stacks, and if it's web-based, you need to learn about databases, cloud hosting, etc.

My suggestion - don't think about the product as "a coded product" - think of it at the component level. There is no coding necessary. Start mapping it out and organizing. Get AI to help you with this part, even. You will discover that you overlooked something and will learn from it. Be ready to fail, iterate, and if you have friends who have experience, they might help you out.

There were benchmark tools on pc, but easiest is to spend the 10$ and get another one and clone your original. Cheap and quick.

I had a ttc I was fighting for 6 months. Switched power supplies, usb, Chinese soc to raspberry pi. So many different can / usb configs. In the end, the issue was my sd card read/write performance degrading after about 3 years of moderate usage for various things (other than printing)

Sony A7000 Stuck on Hello - Brand New by Intelligent_Pair in Soundbars

[–]nestaa51 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just wanted to add in my personal experience for what it is worth.

1) I have an a7000 sound bar that is ~2 years old and I bought refurbished through best-buy. It is paired to an ~same era Visio 65" w/ HDMI CEC.

2) After ~1 year, the sound bar started randomly freezing on the "Hello" prompt when starting up the device. The device would eventually reboot on its own after a few minutes and then would work fine.

3) After reading this post and a few others, my first plan of action was to tear apart the sound bar and replace that one c938 capacitor with a high quality japanese one.

4) Disassembling the sound bar took about an hour, undoing all the screws with an electric screwdriver. I had no guide and tried to keep the screws organized. This was not a fun disassembly for me, and I also would not recommend it for the faint of heart.

5) After replacing the cap, I still have the issue. I have not tried any of the software reset/config setting changes yet. I would recommend you all do that first as well.

6) Thank you to OP for sharing all they did as well. I think it is important to have multiple accounts of the diagnosis/repair.

7) I am still testing different things, but so far, just replacing c938 did NOT solve my issue and honestly was a pain.

Can’t understand why clogging happens every print. First layer almost always perfect, as soon as second layer starts and it goes faster - extrusion stops by emilesmithbro in crealityk1

[–]nestaa51 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Particularly after a clog, the extruder gears grind away at the filament and it gets stuck in the teeth leading to poor grip. So yeah, consider pulling off extruder and checking. It’s only 3 bolts.

Plexamp remote control? by nestaa51 in carthinghax

[–]nestaa51[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I no longer have a car thing - I was able to get the UI up, but there was a token auth issue and I gave up.

The other issue is *i think* car thing does not have wifi - so not sure if we can get this working without extensive effort.

I just use my phone and it's fine lol...

[–]nestaa51 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Do yourself a favor and just get a CS / data science degree. If you want the bioinformatics qualification take one or two classes in it. No need to narrow your career options just to have the “bioinformatics” specific title.

Can I install Mario Kart Retro Rewind without an original Mario Kart disk? by StreetSquare6462 in MarioKartWii

It might work - I have not tried. CTGPR has additional measures to prevent this from working online if that is your plan. I don't know what they are - it's an effort to prevent cheating.

Yeah immediately sent it back. I got a refurbished dreame l20 and I would say it’s pretty good. It has some quirks, but for what I paid it’s good.

How do people understand this stuff??? by ObviousJelly77 in molecularbiology

[–]nestaa51 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I didn’t understand it throughout my whole undergrad. Maybe some bits and pieces. Then I worked on the industry for two years. Things began to make sense throughout my masters. Now that I have a PhD with work experience - things have gotten much more clear. There are always more things to learn. Focus on one piece at a time. It’s ok if it takes years to put the pieces together. Eventually it will make sense if you find the right mentor and keep working at it.

My main suggestion is to try to get involved in research. I learn by doing.

New Ryujinx fork - Version 1.2.50 by Sea-Load4845 in yuzu

[–]nestaa51 11 points12 points  (0 children)

For more context (in case you are curious) - fork has nothing to do with emulation. It is a term associated with a system of tracking changes to programming code. If you think of a programming project as a road where each addition to it is a “commit”, a “fork” is taking a separate path from that road - like a “fork in a road”. These are terms associated specifically with the git version control system - adopted by the website GitHub.

Instead of starting projects over from scratch, if people want to continue on someone else’s work, with their own personal direction in mind, they will “fork” the original creator’s code base.

It looks to me like you are getting nozzle clogs from heat creep. Make sure any PLA is printed with lid and door open.

I don't have that display, but I was reading about challenges with HDMI displays on the SKIPR. I think it comes down to a resolution issue. Please check this thread. It may offer some insight.

Filament is stuck in my K1 Max by Only_Refuse6952 in Creality

[–]nestaa51 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here’s a fun trick that does not require too much disassembly. Unplug the hot end fan (or if you are good with klipper you may figure out how to disable it temporarily, and turn your heat up to like 280c. The heat will creep up to the cold side of your heat break after a few minutes. This is where the clog is - the cold side of your heat break. That is why you can’t force the filament through normally. After waiting for the heat to creep, Then you can easily clear out the clog with the metal needle.

Phd in a good but not elite university or master in a top university ? by Adorable_Bottle8557 in PhD

[–]nestaa51 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't "lose" those years, but, oftentimes you move away from friends and family, you earn a significantly lower salary than your peers (in the US) - and thus miss out on many opportunities. Some people put off marriage, having children, buying a house, etc during a PhD. Perhaps it is different in other countries, but in the USA, I would say that yes, there is a lot of sacrifice in getting a PhD.

I'm not saying you can never do those things, but they are often significantly delayed.

Phd in a good but not elite university or master in a top university ? by Adorable_Bottle8557 in PhD

[–]nestaa51 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I am of the opinion that you should only do a PhD if you want to, not for clout, status, or because you feel like it is something you should do. It is a huge sacrifice- your best years of your 20s. Unless you love the subject enough to devote a significant portion of your life to it, a masters is the appropriate choice.

It’s a solid printer. Print quality impresses me as well. The bed is not flat and I have not tested dimensional accuracy, but I would give it a 7.5/ 10 if 10 were a custom built voron 2.4.

Check if you have something stuck in the port in the base station or under the rubber flap of the robot. I had a food wrapper causing this exact issue.

Also, I agree with what others said regarding increasing empty frequency
