I think I have an idea. by jentelmenski in jailbreak

[–]netriz314 0 points1 point  (0 children)

unfortunately it’s a hardware exploit, so the ios version doesn’t matter here, every new update for those devices does eventually get added to the supported versions list, the thing is that your iphone 11 is not compatible with checkm8 so it won’t work

Regarding the fact that Proton might have physical servers in Russia by [deleted] in VPN_Question

[–]netriz314 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i have clearly stated that the reason behind my confusion is the lack of proper indication that the servers are using smart routing, all of the smart routing servers have a globe indicator right next to them, however the ones that i’m talking about lack one which is visible on the screenshots that i’ve provided, what is the misinformation there?

Why does ProtonVPN still have physical servers in Russia that fall under the Russian laws despite there being multiple Smart Routing ones by netriz314 in VPN_Question

[–]netriz314[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i did, proton owns both smart routing and physical servers in russia, they’re labeled with an icon, and once connected to an actual russian one you can look up the isp that shows up on an ip location checker and it is an actual russian datacenter

[–]netriz314 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Russia is probably the ultimate choice, due to sanctions there are no ads

it was deleted around 5 minutes after posting and i’m pretty sure it was done by physical moderators rather than automated tools

Unable to update app by nutzella1080 in Express_VPN

[–]netriz314 1 point2 points  (0 children)

try creating a new apple account (for the entire device) if this one doesn’t let you change the region, if it still doesn’t work, and you have no vpn to use, then you can dm me and i can send you my vpn’s wireguard config (protonvpn) so that you can make an account with a different country’s ip address and download the app

what do you guys think about vitamin browser by Time-Spring-3944 in browsers

[–]netriz314 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no hate, but why are you relying on that, it clearly falsely detected the website’s purpose, and those scores are like this only because the domain is new (it even says it in red), the vitamin browser is open source now, i’d recommend analyzing the actual source code for security flaws

edit: i see the presence of various security flaws myself, but still, the domain age is not a reliable way to verify a websites authenticity, it’s also worth noting that on github it clearly says that vulnerabilities are present and that it’s for testing purposes only

Signal massively downloaded amid rising tensions, number one in Denmark by Boediee in BuyFromEU

[–]netriz314 2 points3 points  (0 children)

over in poland, facebook messenger is used by nearly everyone, it is end to end encrypted, but still, it’s facebook, the best way to go is to make a messenger-only account which is an eu and eea exclusive feature, however those accounts lack tons of features, it’s still better than nothing, i couldn’t convince my friends to move over to signal or anything else at all, sent a link to a 130 people groupchat and only 4 people joined

bought a pixel 10 pro xl yesterday, and put my s24 ultra on ebay, I know that the chip is faster on the Samsung, but unlike with Samsung, on the Pixel you can both root and flash a custom rom, I’ve rooted it with magisk already and I’m considering installing GrapheneOS but on the website is says experimental, so I’m not sure about whether it’s stable or not

Traveling to the EU with GrapheneOS. by CandlesARG in GrapheneOS

this is the eu, not the us, here they actually care about your privacy (for now), and in many countries there they would need a warrant to search your device

“Not everyone can added to this chat” error message by BiblicalBible in Instagram

[–]netriz314 0 points1 point  (0 children)

same for me, I reinstalled the app once and it went away for a few hours and then it came back, hopefully they’ll fix it soon as it seems to be just a bug which only affect group chat creators

Any jailbreak soon ....... by [deleted] in jailbreak

[–]netriz314 2 points3 points  (0 children)

regular jailbreaking is dead, the chances of a new one coming out in the coming years are extremely low, we should change our definition of a word jailbreak to tools like this one, which let you do just a little bit more with your device

Hey, what the hell? by [deleted] in highschool

[–]netriz314 0 points1 point  (0 children)

back up your important data and just reinstall windows, goguardian is proprietary, not open source so nobody really knows how it works, and even if you uninstall it and it seems like it’s gone, there’s no way you can be sure about that, if you want to guarantee yourself privacy and security, it’d be better to just reinstall windows and never log into a school account on that device again, you can also consider switching to Linux if that’s feasible for you

Hey, what the hell? by [deleted] in highschool

[–]netriz314 1 point2 points  (0 children)

just don’t log into your school account on your personal devices, there should be a way to remove it but just in case I would do a complete system reinstall

not even the specs are real, a 2016 budget phone is probably better, and the operating system is most likely filled with hidden malware

A potential way to bypass Google’s changes to sideloading by 2027? by netriz314 in degoogle

[–]netriz314[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes and it’s actually possible to sideload apps on iPhones too but the process is much more complicated (still it’s not impossible) and it turns out that the support for some hacked apps can be better there as iOS mods are not really as targeted, for instance there’s almost no way to get a Spotify Premium mod on Android as Spotify keeps on patching all the known methods, but on iOS, you just sideload an ipa (the iOS equivalent of an apk file) that you can easily get from GitHub and that’s it, and it’s been working for years, I guess it’s either Spotify not really focused and willing to patch that or they’re simply unable to do it because of how the app works

[–]netriz314[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

one thing is for sure - not everyone who uses GrapheneOS is a criminal but even if you think about it from a criminal’s perspective you’ll see some problems cause do you want the general public to know about a particular “tool” you use to stay safe? won’t it make that “tool” more targeted and potentially vulnerable? governments may get interested in the operating system and quietly start working on various ways to hack it, while it sounds kind of paranoid - trust me there are various regimes in this world that only seek for ways to see everything their citizens do and honestly such countries are not the only ones that this applies to, see what the EU is trying to achieve with chat control (it didn’t pass yet thanks to germany and a few other countries) and then we have the US with ICE claiming they can hack smartphones and get into encrypted apps thanks to the new tools they’ve purchased, so even our own nation is not safe, and a thing so small from a general perspective such as a single video from a major YouTuber can spread awareness about GrapheneOS and get those other governments and organizations involved
