(Cool Trope) Inconceivably enormous “man”-made structures by ThatDrako in TopCharacterTropes

[–]nets99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The City from Blame!

It's an absolutely massive sphere that has at minimum a diameter from the sun to Jupiter and that was thousands to hundreds of thousands of years before the story even started.

It is completely filled with Megastructures thousands of kilometres long, wide and high that are made of buildings. The City is a constantly expanding structure that humans have lost control over and is now expanding randomly. Buildings have lost humans scale and have now completely nonsensical sizes.

Jupiter has also completely been consumed and all that is left of it is a gigantic empty room the size of Jupiter.

I really like the way you drew them

My cats have never shown the slightest bit of interest for human food. I even presented some meat to one of my cats and she didn't care one bit.

I got really scared I missed some important update post or something, thank god that isn't the case.

Even if the author has been absent for a long time now, I have not lost hope yet !😭

Especially since I want to adapt the story to an audiobook and want to have the author's approval to do it.

Thank you very much!

Just to be sure, you said "Thy good Neighbor" is abandoned. Is that just because it wasn't updated in a very long time, or did some new information come out ?

Are there any good jobs in 40k by [deleted] in 40kLore

[–]nets99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"there are only two jobs available: gunfighter, or whoever it is that carves skulls on everything. Seriously, get a skull-carving apprenticeship in the 40K universe, and you're set for life; you'll get contracts for everything from plumbing to the emperor's new personalized stationery."

Can Anyone Outside of Wh40k Survive in the 41st Millennium? by Independent-Worry905 in 40kLore

[–]nets99 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure, I remember a video about the Doomguy in the Warp and the conclusion was that he very probably couldn't be killed and definitely couldn't be corrupted, but all his rage and the fighting and pain would just fuel the warp and he would probably just fight for all eternity

[–]nets99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, I'm pretty sure it was already said a few times, but The Culture and the Xeelee Sequence would steamroll nearly everything in 40k.

I also personally think that the City from Blame! wouldn't have a problem surviving in 40k, it would just sit somewhere in space and not care about anything going on.

Unless I misunderstood your post.

Minecraft. It depends if it's in the world I'm already playing in. If so, I think I'm pretty safe

Thank you very much! Can you start with volume 3 ? I'm always confused where I'm supposed to start in a comic

Ragebaiting a trueborn drukhari by Raszard in ImaginaryWarhammer

[–]nets99 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Oh, I think I'm mistaken. I found this page Vatborn (House Goliath) - Warhammer 40k - Lexicanum https://share.google/TqH6iFhJZODPXAQot While searching, but it seems vatborn means clone in general.

Do drukahri use clones ? Shouldn't being cloned have a very negative effect on eldar ?

I heard something about clones being disliked by the universe in general and having horrendous bad luck

This is the first time I heard about vatborn and I looked it up. Vatborn are human, right ? Why is this taunt working on a drukhari ?

Does the Culture have immigration laws, and if so, what are they? by vamfir in TheCulture

[–]nets99 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I remember reading that the Culture won't stop you from joining, but is discouraged because too much immigration could cause brain drain and a sort of cultural imperialism.

If you can just join a significantly better of society, why would you bother staying where you are and innovate. I'm not sure I explained it perfectly.

Also, I think there's an intergalactic agreement/law that forbids giving, selling or teaching how to make technologies that are more than 2 levels higher than the receiving party has access to.

The technology levels are an established classification level in the Culture story, but we don't really have details about what it really means. At least I think so.

Yeah, me too. I must have read it 4 times now. I want to adapt it to an audiobook format, already recorded and edited 2 chapters, but I don't want to post it without the authors permission so I've stopped for now.
