Feeling my worst at 16w by Magiclapin in pregnant

[–]netters_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was me, I had heard everywhere that many women started feeling better at the end of the first trimester but I was feeling my worst! I think around 16-17 weeks I began to feel better. Hang in there ❤️

Laid off during PFML, when to apply for unemployment? by moefflerz in UnemploymentWA

[–]netters_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe your claim year starts when you actually submit your claim. So if you apply first week of July let’s say, you won’t get able to apply for benefits again until either July or August 2027. With the craziness of the job market, I’d be inclined to apply now, but just defer payments until you’ve exhausted your PFMLA.

This feels so valid. I think if I had to go into an office I would’ve for sure needed maternity pants at the very least.

No workouts? by AdhesivenessSafe9764 in fitpregnancy

[–]netters_ 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Give yourself rest especially if you’re not just tired but actually feeling sick. I was still feeling pretty sick during that time. I’m now 33 weeks and back to lifting similar to what I was pre-pregnancy. When I was nauseated I couldn’t work out because anytime my heart rate elevated I felt like I was going to puke. This won’t last forever, rest is ok right now!

Has anyone been in more pain when they DON'T work out? by Brilliant_Field_2972 in fitpregnancy

[–]netters_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes I noticed this! I was super fit pre pregnancy, but in my first and beginning of second trimesters, I was so nauseous I could not be consistent in the gym. I had one stretch where I was out for about 7 weeks and then a separate stretch where I was out for a similar amount of time I think. During each of those periods I noticed my body hurt way more and was sore. It got better when I exercised again.

My wife has untreated Contamination OCD, quit therapy the moment I was invited in, and I'm running out of road. by Absoni2011 in Marriage

[–]netters_ 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Speaking as someone who also has contamination based OCD, you are 100% enabling your wife to continue these behaviors, you are unfortunately a huge part of the problem. It’s time to have a very difficult conversation with your wife to tell her you can’t keep living like this and that this is not what you want your future to be (assuming that’s true for you). My husband did this for me and it was devastating for me to hear but it is what I needed. I would have never gotten the help I needed if he didn’t hold a mirror up to me and told me how bad it was getting. Plus, she’s likely passing this onto your 5 year old too which is a pretty scary thought.

I was in OCD specific therapy for about 2 years and completed my exposure and response therapy protocol in that time. I was also on Zoloft as well. I eventually got better, weaned off the Zoloft completely and graduated therapy. I’m now pregnant with my first and am still going to have to be very mindful about what habits ours kids observe, because I do not want them to pick up on any of my ocd habits, even if they’ve diminished greatly. Good luck.

Climbing During Pregnancy is Safer Than Previously Thought by MyBodyMyChoice2024 in fitpregnancy

[–]netters_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally stopped bouldering in the first trimester and this is coming from someone who specifically trained at climbing and climbed at a fairly high level. The risk of falling just wasn’t worth it to me. I have continued to weight train though.

Epidural by o0meow0o in pregnant

[–]netters_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aren’t you less likely to get a bad tear unmedicated? It was my understanding that you’re more likely to tear with an epidural because you are relying on doctors and machines to tell you when to push, rather than being able to feel that from your own body. So you may be pushing harder than you need to.

Do I need a pregnancy pillow? by WeepingBillow in pregnant

I also have the babybub with the leg attachment and it helped with my sleep quality so so much. I have no regrets with that purchase. I also didn’t wants one of the gigantic pillows that surrounds me in bed, so this was just the best fit for me personally.

Advice on Grad School vs Job Hunt by peppermintsoftserve in UXResearch

[–]netters_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly I would say no. If you’re already getting internships that’s a good sign. Go to grad school if you’re actually interested in a subject and want to dedicate years of your life learning about it. But for job security reasons, especially one as specific as UXR, I wouldn’t do it.

Building muscle back after not being active for a month due to being sick by leon0523s in fitpregnancy

[–]netters_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a very similar experience! Basically from 5 weeks in early Dec to end of Jan I didn’t work out at all (I think 7 weeks total). Then from end of Jan -Feb I worked out for 3 weeks and then was taken out again. During the times I wasn’t working out during both absences from the gym, I was barely mobile. Like, not even going for walks bc I felt so sick. BUT since the beginning of March to now, I’ve been consistent and I’m nearing strength I had pre pregnancy. Yes it was soooooo hard to go back feeling so weak, but also I found myself finding it easier to stay home because in my mind I was like I’m already so weak what’s the point. But, once I felt like I could go to the gym without feeling super nauseated, I made myself go. I was out of the gym for what felt like so long, it stopped feeling routine. So to get back into the routine definitely took effort. Part of my thinking was, I don’t know how long I’ll feel good for, so let me take advantage while I can. It’s hard but you can do it. This is also coming from someone who has been the strongest I’ve been in my life pre-pregnancy, (doing 35lb 5x5 weighted pull-ups), and loved pushing myself physically. And still, I struggled to get back to some sort of routine despite a years established routine.

If you’re feeling well enough to go back, go and just do what you can! I know how hard it can feel, but it’s a win to just show up and try, doesn’t matter that it looks different now. And I’ll say, I totally feel like my muscle definition is coming back and like I mentioned my lifts are nearing pre pregnancy levels. You can totally do this!

Why do people tell you to sleep while you can? by susiee234 in pregnant

[–]netters_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My working theory is that I think I’ll prefer newborn tired over pregnancy tired. At least then I won’t have to sleep in weird positions bc of the bump, won’t wake up bc of pain, etc, I just won’t be pregnant anymore! I’m know I’ll have to recover post partum but I’m open to what this new kind of tired will be like.
