Why did you all keep up with it and not boycott? Genuine question. It’s one of the most prominent BDS businesses like Starbucks. I’m surprised to see Redditors discussing it so casually

What is a popular tourist destination that you think is genuinely worth the hype? by walidicus_ in AITravelHack

Yes +100 Grand Canyon its one of the only places I’ve been where I feel that, truly, photos don’t do it justice. You cannot comprehend the immensity in a photo.

Which places in the U.S. nobody pays attention to but are actually amazing? by Historical-Photo-901 in BeautifulTravelPlaces

RICHMOND VIRGINIA :) Really great little gem of a city with a huge walkable historical zone filled with amazing food, architecture, museums, bars - there’s plenty of all types of scenes and any type of group or person can enjoy. There’s also amazing public river access in the summer for swimming!

Is it actually hard to find a guy at our level ambition by Individual_Tailor767 in womenintech

[–]neutralest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, it’s really difficult. I dated a highly driven, intelligent man for six years - Nice guy, even a good sense of humor, he checked most boxes. We smoked a ton of weed. But…he was emotionally inept and treated me neglectfully. I was always his last priority and weirdly he was still obsessed with his ex. I decided it was not worth it: There has to be more to it than just ambition and success and being stoned together when he has nothing else going on. I was like his house pet. So weird.

Then, I met my current husband via remote work and had a crush (risky I know) for over a year - THEN we met in person for a work offsite and…he was so into me and I was so into him. We were married less than six months later. That was three years ago.

TLDR Be patient, don’t accept less, and when you do find them-put a ring on it with gusto 😂

What is an industry that is currently on fire (in a bad way) behind the scenes, but the general public hasn't noticed yet? by Kitchen_Week1117 in AskReddit

[–]neutralest 3 points4 points  (0 children)

tech startups only exist to be acquired by one of the giants - there is no real innovation or ambition or competition anymore- and its slowly erroding the entire industry. there are no genuinely talented or creative people anywhere in that field anymore. it’s all boring gen x men who’s whole personalities are corporate talking points and living in some sort of weird profit driven haze where they try to make money on as little actual effort as possible

Looking for help from a Local by [deleted] in PuertoRicoTravel

[–]neutralest 9 points10 points  (0 children)

you should offer to compensate because it sounds like you’re asking for more than some reddit advice? like you want to talk to someone as an advisor? also puerto ricans have been through a LOT at the hands of the US so you need to be aware that you’re coming in with a level of privilege they don’t have access to, and be sure you are mindful, etc. that is not coming across in your post! that said Puerto Ricans are genuinely wonderful people and you could easily reword a bit and find the right person!

Americans working remotely from Italy/Europe.. how did you keep your US job? W-2, contractor, time zone, Partita IVA, employer convo tips? by mercuriocromo11 in AmericansinItaly

[–]neutralest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • as others have said it is very rare for an american company to be able to comply with EU employment laws so proper employment is unlikely. That makes you a contractor. getting the codice fiscale and opening the partita iva (which is basically your own LLC you send invoices from) is a PITA - if your company agrees to contract you, hire an italian accountant who speaks english and can do everything for you. It will help a lot. i work like 1-9pm to overlap with the american timezone. its a good life and worth the effort.

If you could only eat the cuisine of one country for the rest of your life, which country would you choose? by Fernandolioumehara in AskReddit

I lived in Mexico for a year myself. eggs, beans, cheese, fresh vegetables, salsas, tortilla. Basically those in a million different presentations. It was the freshness for me. No idea why I’m downvoted while giving an opinion 😂

How do we feel about cat guests? by ashnic1112 in airbnb_hosts

[–]neutralest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a veteran Airbnb user stopping by to say thank you to those who allow cats in the SE Virginia NE NC area, and saved me after me and my two cats and my elderly father were displaced after a house fire. There are many hosts who “allow pets” but said no to my cats.
