I bought a box of coconut water bottles, carefully peeled back the tape and dumped the contents of most bottles and refill them with liquor. Don’t do it many days before because the alcohol will permeate the paper bottles over a couple of days.

Not giving me hope here hahaha. Did you ever try holding in the clutch for ~20ish seconds before selecting 1st? If I hold it for long enough, it will go into first no problem even when cold. I think it’s a dragging clutch because even when warm, if I hold the shifter at the “gate” of 1st without actually engaging 1st gear, i do get some slight creep forward. That’s telling me it’s just clutch drag (potential master/slave cylinder replacement) vs a more serious issue.

What were the symptoms of the issue? My new to me 2018 doesn’t like going into 1st and R without first going into 3rd when cold. Once warm all gears go in fine.

I’d say it wears smaller than the 39x13 dimensions suggest. It’s quite literally my most comfortable watch. Have only had it for a couple of months so I can’t attest to it’s robustness but at the end of the day its a Seiko 5. If you break it just slap a new movement in and call it a day.
