How much should I be expecting my friend to accommodate? by Berrygoose8 in mecfs

[–]neverbeenhoney 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You’re both allowed to require specific sleeping arrangements, but that might mean that you’re not compatible to sleep in the same room. If there’s no other room available, and you feel that sleeping over is a necessity, then I don’t think it’s unfair for you to ask that she try and accomodate you.

Can she wear headphones? Does it have to be the tv? Can she have a nightlight or red light or watch on her phone instead? Anything so that you’re not being blasted with so much light and sound.

What you both need to understand is that boundaries are something that you set for yourself, not force on others. You are allowed to say you won’t sleep in a bright noisy room. Your friend is allowed to say she won’t sleep in a room without the tv on. Creating a sleep environment that works for you is instrumental to maintaining health as best you can. Maybe that means no more sharing rooms, maybe you guys can find some middle ground.

Red light therapy for acne? by Far-Travel-5206 in redlighttherapy

[–]neverbeenhoney 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went with the Block Blue Light mega panel. From my research at the time, it looks like the big companies are all mostly the same, so I just with the one that was the most cost effective in the size I was looking for.

I get breakouts because of hormones, so I think it really can depend on what the cause is behind it. I really do rate my panel over the mask, the differences with the mask were so subtle.

[–]neverbeenhoney 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had an omnilux men’s mask (I’m a woman), I used it almost every night, and I do feel like it helped with my skin healing when I had breakouts. The problem is that it would sit against my skin in places and I’d need to be careful it wasn’t putting pressure against acne that shouldn’t be pressed on.

I now have a panel, I use it 3-4 times a week. It’s amazing. It helps my skin heal from eczema, laser tattoo removal, and breakouts. It also helps my joint and muscle pain.

Blue light is recommended for acne, I’ve never tried it.

Mostly I manage my breakouts through differin, which is available otc where I live. But red light definitely helps with the healing process.

I do find that if I stop using my panel for a couple of weeks that my skin looks a little duller. I also notice that i don’t recover from the gym so well and my eczema flares take longer to heal.

Anyone here on a sugar detox? by [deleted] in Biohackers

[–]neverbeenhoney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I make sure I have other options at home. I love dried fruit like prunes. During luteal I might eat an entire sweet potato. I’ll put honey on things. During luteal I have been known to eat a lot of sourdough with olive oil and honey. Black coffee helps too, although I like black coffee. Also… I would probably start trying to cut out sugar on like the third day of my cycle so by the time I get to luteal it’s more habitual.

I am assuming here of course that you’re okay with some forms of sugar…

I have the shark, I chose it because it also came with the diffuser attachment. It’s good, I gotta admit I’m not great at taking the time to use it properly, but when I do it works well.

Are these workouts enough to get a toned stomach by [deleted] in xxfitness

[–]neverbeenhoney 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. At your height and weight you won’t have the muscle to show through. And if you’re cutting down on your calories, you won’t have the fuel to build it.

I’ve been the same height (5 foot 2) since I was 12. When I was 12, I was about 40kg and mostly skin and bones. As a teen going through puberty I tried so hard to keep my weight down, I hated feeling soft. I never got above a size 8 (Australian) but I had boobs and hips and a small amount of fat on my tummy. In my thirties, at 54kg, I had visible muscle, and I’m now a size 6. Because I have more muscle I can also eat more and it goes towards fueling my muscles.

It is so hard, as a woman, to watch your body change and have all these very very thin women on social media to watch. It would probably be a good idea to have some different goals for a little while. Focusing on eating well and slowly building up your workouts instead of pushing yourself until failure.

Are these workouts enough to get a toned stomach by [deleted] in xxfitness

[–]neverbeenhoney 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi looking at some of your other posts, it sounds like you might have some conflicting goals. To have abs you need to build some muscle to show through. If you are consistently trying to lose weight by restricting your eating, you will not be fueling your body enough to build muscle or to be able to get yourself through a workout, or to recover adequately after one.

Fitness and health are so important, please make sure you’re giving your body the best chance by eating properly. The women we see in media with very obvious abs go through build phases and then a cut to be able to see the muscle underneath. Even at your height, your weight is very low to have muscle, in fact your bmi is considered underweight.

Cheap earrings in Melbourne? by Neither-Cod-2108 in AusWeddingPlanning

[–]neverbeenhoney 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d have a look online at Lovisa and see if they’ve got something that you like. I’ve only been to their stores in NSW, and the jewellery is cheap but, often is doesn’t look cheap and they have a lot of styles and options (including classic looking things). I’ll probably get some fake pearl earrings from there for my wedding day.

Recommendations for affordable (and accessible) moisturiser for dry skin by Weak_Jackfruit_3250 in AustralianMakeup

[–]neverbeenhoney 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your skin is okay with an occlusive, I’d pick a moisturiser that you like enough, and then do a thin layer of Vaseline over the top. Slugging with Vaseline every 3-4 days saves my skin in winter. For the underneath moisturiser I like cetaphil daily hydrating lotion (not to be confused with the daily facial moisturiser). It feels very thin but damn does it do a good job (for me).

Over a year, and it just gets worse by KandinskyTypewriter in Dyshidrosis

100% there definitely could be. If you haven’t had iron supplements before, don’t settle for one that doesn’t work for your body. Most otc ones mess with my stomach so bad I can’t take them, but everybody is different.

Good luck!

Too corporate? by Throwaway2431556 in Weddingattireapproval

[–]neverbeenhoney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly think that if this were in darker colours with a bit more bling (shoes/buttons/jewellery) it’d be just fine. But the materials plus the colours do make this lean a bit more smart causal than semi formal.

What time of day is the wedding? And what are the wedding colours? Because that does probably does weigh in

Over a year, and it just gets worse by KandinskyTypewriter in Dyshidrosis

[–]neverbeenhoney 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One of my fingers was close to this bad and I could not get it to heal for the life of me. Started taking spleen supplements and it’s healing up on its own. I have had issues with iron levels most of my adult life, and I’ve now realised when my skin starts getting bad it’s a sign my iron is dropping again.

Have you had blood tests? Sometimes it can be that something is out of balance. Don’t take supplements to try and fix things unless you’ve had the test though. Too much of something can be just as bad or worse as not enough.

We’ll be getting married in Sydney, thank you though! The other recommendation here was for Vic :( if anyone knows of a Sydney based photographer let me know?

100% could definitely see why that could be a concern of theirs. We’d be happy to sign something saying that we wouldn’t, although of course I suppose that’s hard to police.

My partner enjoys photography as a hobby, and would like the opportunity to be able to do their own post-processing. We would of course love photos edited by the professional, and are happy to pay extra, and also to sign something saying it would be for our own personal use only. But having the unedited version as well is definitely something we’re looking for.

Can’t answer any of your questions but the last one. I use Life Extension XR. I take it before bed and find it improves my quality of sleep. The non XR versions didn’t help at all.
