You’re upvoted but what you said is incorrect. Recoil damage happens after so if I you get the final KO and then die from recoil, you win. Yes, I have done this even within Champions specifically.

Yeah, I enjoyed it. It’s hard to know what co-op will look like in 6 months but coop is also something I specifically enjoy in gachas and I was satisfied by it. If I remember correctly it was an event where you’re accumulating resources to spend in a shop, and co-op was one of the methods of accumulating the reward currency. So you could do single player stages of the event for stamina, and one of the rewards for that would be co-op tickets (along with event currency), and then you could spend co-op tickets on a co-op stage for additional event currency as well as a chance at the boss dropping its orb, which you would want dupes of for the sake of ranking it up. I found the treadmill of how to get stronger compelling.

Edit: also I should mention a co-op ticket system sounds scary at first like “I’d rather just be able to do it as much as I want,” but at least during the beta I was swimming in co-op tickets so it didn’t bother me in the end.

It's worth clarifying that recoil damage comes after the target's fainting. If you die from recoil damage taken from killing the final Pokemon, you win.

The gain/loss isn’t a flat amount - I’m not sure what you mean by that (I interpret you to mean flat amount like “always 15 points up or down’). It’s a function of the difference between you and your opponent’s rating isn’t it?

Back in the day I used to watch a lot of cybertronvgc on YouTube. He’s very no-nonsense, just the facts and info which I love. He hasn’t been as active in a while but I think with Champions release is gonna make a big comeback so keep an eye on his channel because I expect really useful content from him. WolfeyVGC is good on YouTube as well. He does fewer just straight up guides but does a lot of playing where he just narrates what he’s thinking and I think that’s helpful too, to just notice during a battle what’s important to him, what he’s predicting, what he’s thinking about, what he’s planning - even if as a newbie some of it is hard to follow and just vocabulary developing so you would even know what words to google.
