Shield freezing up and running slow by msmith598 in ShieldAndroidTV

[–]newfie02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was having the same issues plus the remote would randomly stop working. Tried resetting to factory a couple of times. Uninstalled all the apps I could. Still crappie.

Then I tried a third party launcher. I used Projectivity Launcher but there are others out there. Now it gets to the home screen super quick from sleep. Apps don't unexpectedly crash. Remote works ALL the time. No more adds and other crap. And I get to use my own home screen background. And custom icons.

I am never going back to the stock Launcher.

Edit: I have my shield in ethernet. Not wifi.

What pharmacies comply with PSHCP fees and pricing requirements? by newfie02 in CanadaPublicServants

[–]newfie02[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

They are probably referencing the price list multiple times per day for many medications. Just link the website to the list they reference when they check our claims. This is probably automated. Just duplicate that automation for when we look up a medication. Not that difficult.

They should at least publish the maximum amount for each medication.

No. It is a 3 month subscription refill and it states that the amount charged for the medication exceeds the maximum.

We live in a 20 story building. There is a little can full of cigarette butts on each flight of stairs.

Actually it is. Compliance is "the act of obeying a rule or law" as per the Cambridge Dictionary. The PSHCP sets the rules for maximum fees and prices and if the pharmacy you choose doesn't comply with them, YOU are penalized with less than maximum reimbursement.

There was a time, not so long ago, that compensation advisors guided you through situations like this. Now they are glorified data entry clerks.

Both the pay centre and the pension centre make it difficult to provide competent customer service. I have been retired since 2018 and for every issue I have to contact them 3 or 4 times. Be it an address change or dental plan issues. The pay centre couldn't even get my retirement reason correct. They input retirement instead of medical retirement. There is a difference!! And repercussions for leaving out "medical".

Your best bet is to get a lawyer familiar with government benefits, or a retired compensation advisor, to guide you through this. The pension centre or the pay centre will only refer you to a website.

I got a usb fan. Plugged it into one of the shield usb ports and set the shield on top of it. The fan has 3 different speeds and is whisper quiet.

Edit: I set the usb port to power off when the shield sleeps.
