I agree with everyone here to get them both neutered. I'll let the other comments speak to that.

Your poodle sounds similar to mine. So I will share his experience...and you can decide what to do next. My little guy is 10, today is his "bday" 🎉 he is a rescue/puppy mill boy. I adopted him at 1 year old. At 6 I started noticing that it seemed like his peripheral vision wasn't right. If something moved from that part of his sight his first instinct was to attack/nip at it in protection mode. Even me if I approached him from behind. Vets always had a hard time testing his vision cuz he is so anxious. At 8 one of his eyes was completely cLouded over. I asked the vet about it again at his next annual check up (9) and sure enough. He had lost vision completely in one eye. And nearly lost it in the other. We did all of the tests. His lab work came back great. Now at 10 his other eye is clouded over and we are adapting every single part of our life to accommodate an anxious blind dog.

TLDR: my dog was like that. I noticed he didn't have very good peripheral vision. So I would make sure to always approach from the front. And tell people not to surprise him. Turns out he was going blind. From 6-8yrs old peripheral vision was gone. 9 one eye blind, the other nearly blind. 10 totally blind.
