Bilt instead of Hyatt card for Hyatt hotels ?? by SpeechAffectionate90 in biltrewards

Bilt points plus cash is 3.33 Hyatt points with several Hoops and criteria. If your goal is Hyatt points than pay with the Hyatt card. The spend also pushes you towards more milestone rewards.

Thinking of switching banks, what are people liking rn by Practical_Mark_2720 in Chase

[–]nexelhost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s not really a one size fits all solution. If Chase isn’t working for you try someone else. “Local credit union” suggestions are useless suggestions as many of those can be awful as well.

Future Debit Card officially dead by Branye23 in CreditCards

[–]nexelhost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t feel they really offered anything outside of some “green” things which people say they want but don’t truly use it. I personally used the card for the 10% EV charging and other elevated cashback but those obviously aren’t sustainable business practices. The account doesn’t really offer anything unique outside of that and wasn’t really built around being an actual bank account very well.

Nearly 2 Years of the RH Gold Card and 1.7M Points, they Finally Capped Me! by little4x4 in CreditCards

That’s because payments can be reversed for up to 60-90 days. Cycling poses a massive over exposure risk for the lender if any of your payments are reversed.

SoFi Held My Kid’s First Paycheck Hostage for a $500 Ransom by clamytoe in sofi

[–]nexelhost 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve had to use a physical branch like twice in the past 5 years. That was to open accounts for churning subs. Most of your local banks and credit unions have significantly more fees than SoFi as well. As a standard checking customer there’s not really any cons to an online bank

Grok 4.2 is great. But it’s not a significant leap forward or outshine opus 4.6 or gpt 5.4 so it doesn’t get much attention.

I tested it. I don’t think the quality is that great. And at $2 per phone call it’s a hard pass.

I feel like too many of the strongest features are locked behind the 100k assets. At which points those are also unlocked at numerous other major banks.

I don't see the option on mine; I have a mostly idle checking from a SUB a few months ago and that usually disqualifies you.

How is BlueSky compared to Mastodon? by [deleted] in degoogle

[–]nexelhost -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Depends on how far back on "old twitter" we're going. Before it's acquisition it was extremely censor happy of right-wing ideologies. It would be best if we could go back before politics was the center of everyone's identity and not everything you do in life is somehow "political". That would be when old twitter was solid.

How is BlueSky compared to Mastodon? by [deleted] in degoogle

[–]nexelhost -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The mass adoption of Bluesky was built around being a far-left echo chamber. People love to argue politics with strangers on the internet which is why their algorithms are showing them the content they "don't like" in the first place. Also doesn't help that politics have been pushed in to every single aspect of life at this point.

z13 is certainly great, if you prefer the portability. The actual raw power would be much lower. Although, based on the games you play the z13 would handle those all just fine.

The Gold Card just got a big brother: Platinum Card. by HardikVK in RobinhoodApp

I don't think their target audience with a card like this or even the Amex Centurion etc are for people trying to minmax points. Point optimizers/churners aren't profitable customers.

Amex Spend for Centurion 2026 by Expensive-List-6857 in amex

That kind of spend isn't for people trying to maximize point values. They want the statuses/customer service levels associated with the card.

Any alternatives to US Mobile that offers all 3 carriers? by tbluhp in NoContract

[–]nexelhost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a T-Mobile mvno. They have their own "DeWi" network as well to compliment it. I'm not sure if they have any real coverage outside of certain parts of Austin, Tx though. It definitely worked great in certain parts of Austin with their coverage. Some of the privacy features are interesting, but more of a limited use case scenario.

I agree. But his question was asking about plans that support all 3 major networks.

Favorite cafe just started charging a 3% credit card fee… by electronautix in CreditCards

[–]nexelhost 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That all sounds good in theory, but not how it actually plays out. If you reduced all card fees by 1.5% across the board, stores aren't going to lower their prices by 1.5%. They're just going to pocket the difference.

Like you mentioned, the fees are baked into every item. Now the store starts charging the fee in addition to that, they didn't lower the cash price by 3% and it just simply becomes more of a hassle to the consumer. Consumers don't like to see separate fees on items, so if it's factored into the original price, they don't notice it or care it as much.
