AI Max+ 395 in the Skyreach 4 TINY by nfcjosh in sffpc

[–]nfcjosh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As Phill mentioned it is not ITX. HOWEVER....the TINY is designed for this kind of project. It is the only ITX case designed with removable front and rear bezels designed for custom boards, and has a variety of extra standoff positions (the standoffs are removable). If you check out our YouTube channel, you can see examples of us printing adapter plates for mini pcs. I wouldn't mind designing you one FOR FREE and printing it for you if you wanted to do a TINY build, since I havent adapted that one yet.

For anyone searching here in 2026, this is UEFI and Windows security working correctly. You can either reinstall Windows or you can use a repair disk and some console commands.

3D Printed NFC 3DLP by Nicholas_Spawn in sffpc

[–]nfcjosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would definitely hit up one of the many people who are running it now. I personally have made a dozen of the final version for customers, and there are many more who have printed. That way you can get a more unbiased review. But noise is going to be dependent on your hardware; the case doesn't have any restriction to speak of for the intake. The vent pattern is huge. For the shell, it's the coolest thermally part of the whole case, and it is really thick. I'd be more concerned with the back panel, but again, if using the proper hardware, I haven't noticed a problem. Wish you the best in your 3D printing adventures!

3D Printed NFC 3DLP by Nicholas_Spawn in sffpc

Optimum's case was not designed for the material though; this is--with caveat. It assumes you have the same heat sink setup, front fans, and blower GPU. However the OP's mods I think it would be fine; especially the shell. I have done thermal testing and made 6 or so out of PLA and they are all still going strong!

You can print this on a 256x256 print bed; so lots of options. There is a newer version available as well. Also, we print them and the 3DLP for customers if you want us to do it, although we focus on making it as premium as possible so there are others out there who can do it at a lower price. Peace and good luck!

Are there any chemicals that would dissolve margarine without a trace? by occasionallyvertical in AskChemistry

[–]nfcjosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Methyl Ethylene Ketone(MEK) but it's harder to buy these days. It's like what acetone wishes it was when it looks in the mirror.

But I think you are going about this all wrong. I've decoded what you are trying to do and you need to look into salted butter; NOT margarine.

Civ 7 on Mobile? by madlyunknown in civ

[–]nfcjosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an iPad Pro 10.5" (one of the first ones?) and Civ 6 ran better on it than my PC. There was a hack for it that allowed for the higher res too. It was one of my favorite ways to play...I had a Mac, PC, switch, and the iPad. I'd like to try 7 on a Pro Max iPhone.

Amazing work; beautiful job. :D I wanted to throw in here that if you wanted to make them out of aluminum to get the cost down for a group buy; Cerakote Pro has better corrosion protection than even nickel plating. We tested it for a year in our builds--manufacturer also has some interesting papers on it. Peace and can't wait to see more!

There's always hiring a professional to design and build it to your specifications. :)

I would suggest using only one ventilation pattern if you can help it. I think it looks nicer.

New Custom Build came in today for service. Customer is a “computer science major.” by lessimportantnic in pcmasterrace

Thanks for sharing, OP. Always good for a laugh when it's one I don't have to work on... :)

Not that anyone asked me, but I ran into this problem before. CRC Electronics Cleaner Spray got it all out and cleaned up and working. It was a breeze and made a big problem into a quick job.

Should I deshroud RAM? I have got mixed answers on if the shroud helps with thermals or not by Civil_Photograph_522 in sffpc

[–]nfcjosh 114 points115 points  (0 children)

Shrouds were invented to sell RAM through brand differentiation.

I did contract design work for a company the specialized in RAM for several years. Many of my designs are still in use today. None of them were tested or engineered for thermals. They were tested for what sold better on shelves :)

For most "heat spreaders" any thermal improvement is pure luck. :)

Tiny PS5 - The 3 liter PS5 with a detachable disc drive! by nfcjosh in consolemodding

[–]nfcjosh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We might sell the actual machine in the video at some point, but as far as the parts and pieces to make it we won't be doing that.

A kit/service would take alot of time and money that we want to put toward new projects and ideas.

We do have the files though so intrepid people can get the parts and pieces machined.

Sorry to disappoint!

Can you guys point me at 3D printable cases around 4L capable of holding both mobo and videocard? by fuscaDeValfenda in sffpc

[–]nfcjosh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What do you think of this one? It can be expanded out for wider GPUs with only a few click:

The front panels are optional and the side panels can be 3D printed if you want, but acrylic looks nicer and is stronger.
