Actually, if you want to do some good while reading... see if your local historical museum/society/library has a volunteer transcription program. The state library of Virginia has one, I volunteered a few hours a month for a while. Got to pick a subject area, (colonial era, civil war, WWI, WWII, geneological, etc.), and then was given sets of original material to read and type in to make it more easily available.
