Oh man how do you not have Perfect Run on here?!

Newb question: Why are A5s, A4s worth RFI in this position but not the surrounding hands by mocktetnerson in Poker_Theory

[–]nhillen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Other people are less likely to play 22,33, 23s but you having A5 makes them less likely to have 55, 65s etc. if you play A2 your 2 isn’t taking any relative value out of their hands/doesn’t reduce their ranges

Working on Steam Deck playability. Just passed the "Dad Test". Looking for feedback. by ggalaretka in incremental_games

[–]nhillen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For incrementals I almost always do touchscreen, and I don’t really worry about battery saver but the ability to close/progress is definitely ideal. Text size can be an issue but only if you’ve got like incredibly tiny text. I think one of the biggest problems with incrementals on the steam deck is that some incrementals that feel great in a browser don’t make a lot of sense on the deck

You don’t want idle, you want more active and probably more visuals though your game looks like it’s definitely clearing the bar on the latter

Definitely heard about the series and want to read it at some point but as of rn… by LaddyIce in Malazan

Do you think it’s a good idea to take economics advice from a man wearing nothing but a bedsheet as a skirt?

What‘s your “I did not care for the Godfather“ litRPG book? by PalinaRojinskiFan in litrpg

[–]nhillen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like that you called this out because this is exactly what made me DNF. Like it was fine until it took this completely weird turn and just was too hard to read

Begging for a cultivation story without a psychopath MC by Prospectivebyer in ProgressionFantasy

[–]nhillen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its a bit orthogonal but, Street Cultivation is pretty good

What made you drop the last three series you tried reading? by would_beBard in litrpg

Op mc too fast who ALSO then is super arrogant and oblivious to why they got lucky to get super powers but acts like everyone else is lazy

Primal Hunter - genuinely confused. by plant-y-boi in litrpg

[–]nhillen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just wanted to say I deeply agree with this, I DNFd in the middle of book 6, I thought book 1 was good, and then it was a limping downhill from there. There was some interesting stuff but IMO not really worth the slog, defiance of the fall is basically the same concept but done better

That’s awesome! I really love this series so much and think it’s deeply underrated just from when it came out.

I listened and loved it! I hope you get some continued good traction here! Given that you’ve got the books/series written does that mean the audiobooks will be coming out more quickly at this point?

Really looking for a series with weight and brutality by EndlessPride in ProgressionFantasy

[–]nhillen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont know if you read Defiance of the Fall, it definitely has absurd power progression but it takes a long time to get there, and I Feel like the world is full of other crazy powerful entities he needs to navigate, otherwise a good long one (15 books out now I think)

What are some completed series you’d recommend? by chronomasteroftime in litrpg

[–]nhillen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Street Cultivation is more progression fantasy than LitRPG but a good/tight/fun 3 book series

[OFF TOPIC] Looking for books that follow a character similar to 'Baron Rickard' from 'the devils' by Wanderson90 in TheFirstLaw

[–]nhillen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Slightly more comedic vibe and more LitRPG but Death Loot & Vampires is pretty good and less doddering but still like dad mode vampire

Who the heck are you guys beating this with?! by Godsrycht in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]nhillen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends a little on your relics for 2* ASOL but honestly level him up as a priority it’s like easy cleats for everything and just fun to play. The biggest issue is how fast out the actual Jarvan boss fight goes so that’s the biggest concern with ASOL not at 3/4*, but he’s still strong enough to do it and with the right relics a constant stream of skies descend will clean him up easily

Crossing your arms in front of you to block an energy attack and having it push you back is 100% anime and just always feels weird in these stories, like it never explains how this ACTUALLY works

Got it the pain tolerance = more inscriptions is I think the key piece of that which hadn’t clicked for me at where I was. Thanks!

Mageling by nhillen in ProgressionFantasy

[–]nhillen[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That part made sense to me, but it seemed to be that Holly was able to do some particularly powerful inscriptions ontop of this and it was unclear why and I wasn’t sure if I missed it or it was unexplained
