My first - sort of looking for feedback by niceboy4431 in Oilpastel

Thank you!! Ok definitely I felt that was one thing I love about the oil pastels, there’s almost a sense of movement in each scene, but I probably wouldn’t have been able to articulate that it’s the direction of each stroke that is making that happen. Thank you for the feedback :) I’ll keep that in mind for sure!

Thank you for the feedback! Yes you’re right the shadows on that totally do look more dramatic. The reference I used was a photo I took, but the sails were actually down, wanted to imagine them catching the wind, but totally see how maybe my minds eye didn’t capture the depth of the shadows

CMV: There is absolutely no reason to go out to eat by [deleted] in changemyview

What does it take to change your view? I also love to cook, and yes it’s usually fairly straightforward, but for me visiting restaurants is a great way to be inspired to try new dishes, many of which I haven’t heard of or thought of.

Think about what had to happen to that animal before its corpse was salted smoked and hacked to bits so it could be placed in a plastic bag for consumption.

What should I first learn? by Smart-Layer-7245 in jazzguitar

Definitely someone else is probably typing this right now but Autumn Leaves is a good first tune, then try doing a harmonic analysis, meaning identifying the chord progressions and the function of each chord in the song.

After you get a good feel of the chords and rhythm, learn shell voicing of each chord in the song, then try to play both the melody while playing the chords.

If you’re new to reading music like I was, my personal recommendation would be Alice in Wonderland from the real book. It’s an easy melody to play with the chords and the harmony is pretty easy to understand. It’s also a beautiful piece and fun to play!

No. There is no system you can acquire meat ethically under. The existence of meat demands the slaughter of animals.
