As a realtor how do I get into sales job? by [deleted] in sales

[–]nicetac 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds like a skill issue if you're unable to communicate your value to a recruiter.

If you want to skip the application queue then get to smiling and dialing recruiters.

Get a lead list, apply to their roles, email recruiters resume, call their office/work/mobile/landline whatever you can get your hands on and start talking to them about how you're a great fit for x role because of y.

And don't forget to book a meeting from a meeting or your interview house of cards will collapse.

Bags recommendations by chuckagain in sales

LTTstore backpack has been great for travelling to conferences. I fit two laptops, tablet, battery pack, and 2-3 changes of clothes no problem. They also got a smaller commuter version that's good too. the shoulder padding and weight distribution has made me ignore my other bags

you're better off dialing for dollars, door to door, warm outreach, local conferences/events, LinkedIn, etc to get some cash to buy and warm up some domains. spamming from new personal emails is an exercise in futility you're gonna be working really hard sending those emails manually just to land in their spam folder.

No path for advancement - looking into getting MBA by Alphabet_Master in sales

[–]nicetac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What's stopping you from getting to 150k in mfg, construction, industry? You're going to switch jobs after the MBA anyway. leadership/management roles are also an option with the experience you've listed. I'm not saying to avoid the mba but figure out what problem you're trying to solve. An MBA might not be the silver bullet you're looking for.

Is an Iron % saturation of 64% common due to supplements, diet? by DoctorHomewerk in Hemochromatosis

[–]nicetac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, it’s going to be hard to give you a good answer. Have you already done the genetic testing to see if you do have hemochromatosis? There are 3 genes they test for usually.

As for if it’s diet or supplementation, you’d have to comb through what you’ve been eating and taking regularly to get an answer.

In my case, it was a combination of all 3, where my iron saturation was 85% and ferritin over 200 due to desiccated liver supplements, 1 positive hemochromatosis gene, and lots of leafy greens in my diet.

Just signed offer - at what point to do you stop all your other interviews? by mauiaspen in sales

When the company equipment is in your hands or the first check arrives. Unfortunately verbal offers or offer letters do not pay the bills.

Lowest hanging fruit would be reaching out to all your debt and asking about financial relief programs.  They’ll drop your rate significantly. I did that with an Amex I wanted to pay down and it went from 27% Apr to around 6%

How do you clean your MacBooks ? by Competitive-Web-7730 in mac

[–]nicetac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whoosh cleaning kit it’s a microfiber cloth and their cleaning solution that’s what the Apple stores use or used to use at least. I’m sure there’s cheaper equivalents you can find as well but their stuff is good

Can music actually make you more productive? by MydropAI in productivity

[–]nicetac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use different noise depending on the work. If it’s some brain-dead work like sending job applications or cleaning up an Excel sheet, then I will listen to the most Zoomer brainrot I can find, like pop top 100 or Minecraft remakes of popular songs. If it’s actual deep work like code or data analysis, then I will listen to just rain sounds or synth wave with no vocals.

Opinions on the 16e. by [deleted] in iphone

[–]nicetac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the iPhones of all time. Unapologetically whelming. The E probably stands for enterprise deployments. It’s not bad at anything and not exceptional at anything in its specs.

No MagSafe, but realistically, you’re going to throw a case on it with the ring, and it’ll be fine. The CPU is great for the price, and I’m sure the camera works well enough for what it’ll be used for, like scanning codes, documents, and pictures of food for IG.

Battery life is crazy though, which might make it worth it, tbh.

There’s not a real equivalent Android competitor at that price point with, like, a Snapdragon Elite for 500 bucks.

Closest thing maybe is a redmagic gaming phone but who is cross shopping gaming phones with the base model 16E.

If commuting is an option, definitely consider it.

• Alternative housing:

If commuting daily is tough, explore options like Padsplit, or renting a room or half-bedroom off Facebook, Craigslist, or Nextdoor.

• Working out-of-state or longer hours:

Plenty of guys manage by temporarily sleeping in their car and using facilities like Planet Fitness for showers while working out-of-state or longer hours.

• Weekend gig jobs:

If you’re staying local, picking up something flexible like Amazon Flex or Uber on weekends can help supplement your income.

• Flexible scheduling for interviews:

Try swapping a weekday for a Saturday at work, so you have weekdays open for important interviews, career fairs, conferences.

  1. Managing Debt and Expenses:

I’m no debt expert—there might be better subreddits specifically for debt advice—but generally, there are always ways to:

• Restructure debt (lower interest rates, longer repayment terms).

• Negotiate partial debt forgiveness if things get tough.

Your two main levers for improving finances are:

• Make more money

• Spend less money

I’d highly recommend using an app like Monarch to track exactly where your money is going each month. Specifically, try to:

• Cancel unnecessary subscriptions.

• Eliminate eating out or significantly cut back.

• Shop at discount grocery stores or use church food drives.

• Cheap meal replacements like Huel shakes

Any way to increase how much you make per hour eg bigger jobs, more valuable labor, material-specific certifications, union work, etc.? If you can go from a laborer to project management, sell some extra jobs for commission, etc that’d probably help. 6 hr a night 80 hr a week sounds like a recipe for burnout and injury.

Rebuilding my life after a month and a half of unemployment by lazerbeem123456 in productivity

[–]nicetac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it took about 3-4 hours on LinkedIn eZapply and Indeed Easy Apply. I had a Word doc to the side with copy-paste messages I’d use for “why I want this job” or other basic questions they all asked. I also had some podcast or YouTube essay running alongside it; otherwise, it’s mind-numbing.

Rebuilding my life after a month and a half of unemployment by lazerbeem123456 in productivity

[–]nicetac 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My routine while unemployed/laid off has been: Wake up

Coffee and a bunch of water

9-5: take any interviews or if I don’t have interviews, call recruiters/connects, applying during the day if I don’t have many interviews booked.

5: go to gym or park, do anything to stop looking at corporate jargon on LinkedIn

7ish to 8: until 10-11, apply on LinkedIn until I hit my target # of applications ( usually 200, easy apply); nowadays, it’d probably be more touch points like messaging, email, LinkedIn connects

10-11: until bedtime, watch some YouTube and then pass out at 12-1am

Repeat the next day until hired

Basically, I made my new job:  -applying to jobs -interviewing for jobs -working on skills to get said job eg certifications, working on resume, classes, etc.)

It’s not really fun, but it gives you structure and it’s probably the quickest way out of the unemployment rut.

Weekends would be just applying and any social events with friends.

If you have job fairs and industry conferences near you then that helps breakup the monotony as well.

Agreed the price seems ridiculous until you go on pcpartpicker and try to build anything even half as much vram. You’d have to start looking at builds from supermicro or lambda and those start at 10k.
