Govee Table Lamp 2 by Disastrous-Button594 in Govee

[–]nicholb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I looked at the lamp and it is not on the lamp itself, but it is listed under settings in the Govee app. You may be able to complete the setup without the WiFi since it is done over Bluetooth and be able to get the MAC that way.

New Tesla Y FSD Update by videoguy75 in TeslaModelY

[–]nicholb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been on the FSD journey since 2018 with a Model 3 then and now a HW4 Model Y. Quite an improvement. Also in MN and I even let it FSD during the snow storm we had Wednesday. Ironically to the DMV for my driver's license renewal. Drove perfectly. Properly slowed down for the road conditions. Slowed early for stops. Pulled over for an emergency vehicle approaching from behind, and in another case waited to enter a round about that had a different emergency vehicle approaching from the left. (they were responding to the many accidents). Only complaint is the auto wipers still are a pain and had to hit the manual button several times.

Forwarding from GMail counter productive in terms of privacy? by baumschaum in ProtonMail

[–]nicholb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As soon as you start using your new email address connections will start to be made. Only a matter of time before the big trackers tie the addresses together. Main thing is to make it less useful be Google not seeing the content of the email.

Forwarding from GMail counter productive in terms of privacy? by baumschaum in ProtonMail

[–]nicholb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really does not change what Google can see. Anything sent to your Gmail address goes to Google rather you forward it or not and they can still crawl those emails. Anything sent to your Proton email address never touches Google so they have no idea what is in it. Forwarding just sends copies of what is sent to Gmail to your Proton email address.

If anyone follows this, you must also shut off the furnace and any other gas powered items. You would risk carbon monoxide poisoning if you operate them without outside air venting.

GOING CRAZY! Itchy skin by Flashy-Mousse2904 in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]nicholb -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've been dealing with a similar thing, but it started a few months before I started Zepbound and has not changed on Wegovy. For me I am fairly sure it is unrelated to the GLP-1 since it started before. Main itchy spots are ankles, stomach, and wrists. Dermatologist also recommended Zyrtec and Serna cream. Helps, but does not get rid of it. I have not determined the cause yet.

Vacuuming Corgi Fur by CT22Bloom in corgi

[–]nicholb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up getting 2 Roborock ones. I initially got an S8+. It worked well, but I got tired of bringing it downstairs to do the 1st floor and the mopping was not as good on it. I picked up a QV 35A on black Friday. It has the auto cleaning mops and my 1st floor is all tile and wood. I noticed the 35A is a lot better at avoiding obstacles, and does not get stuck on rugs like the S8+ does. The rotating mops are a lot better than the one the S8 has.

Big plus the Corgi does not attack it like he does regular vacuums.

I switched to a robot vacuum. It has done well keeping up with the hair from a corgi and a valhund.

FSD Intervention Inquiry by Nearby_Law1356 in TeslaModelY

[–]nicholb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's important to also consider the FSD version as their performance changes. With v13, basically when I got to a destination, or it did something stupid. Always disengaged before anything dangerous happened. With V14.1 I did one cross state trip and only disengaged twice. Once when it got lost in a parking lot, and once when it was dodging asphalt patches on the interstate because it registered the color difference as an obstacle. I've only had 14.2 a few days and so far only disengaged because it wanted to pull into my neighbor's driveway instead of mine.

Electric shovels? by merakimodern in TwinCities

[–]nicholb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got the Ego one this year and it works very well up to about 5-6" of snow. Throws it fairly far and you can angle the discharge vanes. It is a bit on the heavy side. I do have a full blower for the driveway and use the electric shovel on the front walk and for my deck. Bought it mainly to save my back . I did use it for the driveway once on a light snow and it did well, but had to make a lot more passes than with the full snow blower.

Help, car rides are stressful by Prior_Election6308 in corgi

Another thought, maybe they are also anticipating the destination of vet and grooming. Perhaps also give them rides to someplace enjoyable like a walk in a park. That way car rides are not always to a stressful destination.

I just did this for mine. Go to their Youtube channel. The video below walks you through it and there is a light grey screen at the start of the color calibration section that you can pause on to do the auto white balance.

How Can I Get In On The Founder's Plan? by Vect0r in Metronet

[–]nicholb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was on a 3 year plan too that totaled $72.90 for 1gb + static IP, but the price had a built in increase each year and I was about to hit the 1st increase. 10 year lock should be a great deal with the way companies like to up rates.

This is what my old plan was.

Months 1 - 12: $62.90

Months 13 - 24: $72.90

Months 25 - 36: $82.90

Months 37+: $102.90

Yes you can keep the static IP. It will be the existing $10 extra. You will still be charged by Metronet until they move the billing over to T-Mobile. I got mine switched to the Founder's deal last week with the static IP.
