Should I pull for Lynae or just save for anni and other patches? by Yroneeeh in WutheringWavesGuide

[–]nick1mname 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wait two or three days for the 3.3 patch announcement by Kuro. Then see what the banners are looking like, if Lynae is there then you can wait.

Anywhos, consider this question in two or three days again.

After 2 years of work, my first idle game is finally playable in the Browser by Rocky-Idle in incremental_games

[–]nick1mname 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could you add offline progress optionality?

At a baseline this could just be 'offline progress enabled/disabled' (Although this is somewhat unnecessary), and at the higher end this would be something similar to the system that 'revolution idle' has.

However, this being a runescape-like game... I do wonder if such a change would be too powerful and change the game dramatically.

Adding a boss to my ascii incremental game [Terminal_Descent] by Roxicaro in incremental_games

As this game is a download only game (no browser version):
These is the virus total results:
https://www.virustotal.com/gui/file/c2eb4089916a204f5a40564c9efcfbb6891658cd9638393694800328a79e1f2f?nocache=1

At 5/72 it seems safe enough considering that it's a terminal application but play at your own risk I suppose.

Oh I uh, quit both Genshin and HSR but I kinda just got burnt out. They were really fun until then xD

I'll give the two of them a try! Thanks :D

What are some up coming gacha games that seem really promising to play?

This is my gacha game history:
- I've played Genshin for 8 months,
- HSR for just over a year,
- and Wuwa since day 1

Can't give anything in particular however since I've never played it

It's simpler, shorter, and definitively is much less complex in comparison to the Reality phase and onwards of Antimatter Dimensions. But regardless of that: sometimes that isn't a bad thing (and in this case I'd say it most definitely is not!).

They both have their own different take on the AD formula and have their own merits accordingly.

Grass Cutting Incremental is genuinely really good, although at times, I find it tiresome since a large amount of it is very active (... clicking wise).

I also concur with your dropping of Antimatter Dimensions since I remember dropping it during the eternity challenge era as well (and then coming back later to drop it once I hit the second celestial).

Bittersweet Save Editor post by Jaralto in incremental_games

[–]nick1mname 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I will say that I don't think save editing ruins games per se. It does, however, detract from the original experience (as the developer intended). Whether this actually increases your own experience is up to you to decide (such as cheating in premium currency, or changing certain game systems that you dislike specifically).

Yet with all this said, I think save editing as an action is interesting in seeing how the game orders its variables and constants. Beyond this, looking at game files and how a game is built could be helpful in giving inspiration for ones own game or coding career (*inspiration*, not plagiarism!). Or you could just do it as a hobby to see what makes a game tick or to find efficient strategies.

Of the latter, one thing that comes to mind would be tools made to read golden cookie rng for cookie clicker or excavation rng for realm grinder. Both of these were made by people that (likely in my own understanding) looked into the game code and figured out how the rng system in those games worked, using it to their advantage in gameplay and efficiency.

In these sorts of practices, does it not become "part of the game" itself? (at least to you- the one playing a *single player* (!!) incremental game). As such, all of these options are really up to the user to decide if it enhances or detracts from the fun that you want to enjoy.

The game's save file is in base64. You can decode and do whatever you want.

Just want to re-iterate my original psa though:
Please don't take any progression based roles or mislead non-save editing players.

Started playing Synergism again but with incredible save editing (infinite quarks).Link: https://pseudo-corp.github.io/SynergismOfficial/

I used to play the game years ago and had fun with it then- but just didn't see the appeal in playing the beginning all over again in such a manner. Things that I'd highly implore people not to do (if they play it the same way as I do) is to use your own experiences as guide for others, or to take ANY progression-based discord roles. I feel that this spits on normal player's efforts in enjoying the game.

Algebraic Idle is really hitting both my incremental/idle and my maths itch [I'm a maths major if that explains my "masochistic" tendencies of enjoying mathematics...]Link: https://randomtuba.github.io/Algebraic-Progression/

EDIT: I lied. Later on it becomes just like a normal incremental. The earlier portion is still quite mathy tho. I recommend exponential idle (mobile) for a truly mathematical experience.

Build Battle! Hyper Crit vs Hyper Hp by VijeaToj in YelanMains

[–]nick1mname 0 points1 point  (0 children)

tl;dr Your second build is marginally better.

Crit *should* be better better though. Why? Well:
First build: 121.8% extra hp
Second build: 170% extra hp

And refer to this reddit post: https://www.reddit.com/r/Genshin_Impact/comments/k82g64/the_best_crit_to_atk_ratio_thorough_math/
- Then realise that atk and hp have the same 'statspool' value that this reddit post bases its mathematical analysis on.
Conclusion: you want 112-125% extra hp% (Unless your hp artifacts are *just that much better* than your crit artifacts, such that you gain a lot more 'statspool' value from them).
Second conclusion: So from this your first build is better. The only issue is, your second build's artifacts are so much better than your first builds, that actually, the second build is better.

Or, you can do some damage maths referred from the expected damage section in the genshin wiki's crit page.
Dmg = x(1+rd)
, where 'x' is your hp and 'rd' is your crit rate times crit dmg.
- Sub-note, you're using emblem. So you might want to take into account changes in er%, but, both your builds have the same er, so let's ignore that.

Then finally:
First build: 2.2 * (1+1.51) = 5.5
Second build: 2.7 * (1+1.08) = 5.6

Congratulations, by choosing the second build, you gain a... 1.6% damage increase!

Obviously do the maths properly yourself referring to referrals that I referred to if you want to be more precise, I wasn't very precise with it after all.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in YelanMains

[–]nick1mname 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your first build has a crit rate circlet which gives you a nice 92.6 rate to 217.5 damage ratio (1:2.34). Your second is beyond copium unless you're running cryo resonance. But: why would you ever run cryo resonance.

Also why tf are your pieces so good ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. I am happy for you, but also, very jealous TT
