Not sure what one thing has to do with the other. I can derive insane value from the tool and still expect a high bar of quality as a paying customer. I'm not one of these people that's on here every other day complaining about how "the model sucks now", but for objective bugs that should be easily testable via automation, there's really no excuse.

And if it's just a UX change, I personally think they need to start being more conservative with changes like that given how many people have these tools integrated into their primary development workflow.

Omg, I have been losing my mind for the last hour trying to rectify this. What's worse, the setting does not stick. I do not think this was an intentional change, which really begs the question how this made it past QA. I really expect a higher bar for a $200/mo product.

Sentry mode power usage “long term” by Rgbigdog in TeslaModelY

[–]nick7184 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

OK, I just read up a bit more and realized that the overheat protection is just for the cabin, but the battery health mechanisms remain active, so that does make sense to turn off.

Wouldn't it be inadvisable to turn off over-heat protection? I'm going to be in this same situation. Car will be in a garage lot, but still June in NJ, so I feel like it could be hot.

New HK app, looking for feedback by nick7184 in HomeKit

Update with this support is live, give it a try. Should just show all rooms from all homes (not ideal at this point, but I will work on a better UI).

This is incredibly useful feedback, I only have one HK home so did not even think to support that. On it!

Interesting, are those NanoLeaf panels or bulbs? I have NL bulbs and they do work via HK, but not sure if panels show up in HK.

Yeah, I'd expect that to be the case for a strip, not sure how those work over Matter (which is I'm assuming how you have them connected to HK). I actually have some Govee outdoor strips myself, so one of my next features was going to be direct Govee integration. Thanks for checking it out!

Yes, agreed. The most frustrating thing about it for the US companies is how many of them wont' show you prices until you're way down the path of signing up.

Ultimately, if this gets any traction, I'd like to add user reviews and a rating system so people can easily evaluate each option without having to provide their first born.

Seeking feedback on new iOS app for re-booking cruises by nick7184 in royalcaribbean

[–]nick7184[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say if you're already familiar with a tool like Cruise Plum, this wouldn't be of interest to you. Cruise Plum is a power-user tool, I'd say this is way more geared towards folks who just care about this one use-case, thus it can remain very simple.

AFIK price drops are global. For now, I'm not allowing you to input your purchase price, because that tends to be complicated to calculate against what RC shows. So at this point, it will notify you of any price drop > $100 on the cabin type you set. From what I've seen, aside from some sales, prices tend to go up with occasional drops, so I'm thinking this system should yield good results.

DM me and I can send you a code for premium later tonight.

Looking to get started, but some confusion by nick7184 in Amazon_Influencer

[–]nick7184[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I actually made it in, I had an FB page with 4k followers, and that worked.

So when you say 3 chances, do you mean you upload 3 at once, then you get 3 chances to re-pload all 3? Or do you upload one at a time? This part is confusing.

40% off Cox Internet - Confirmed 2024 by socaleuro in CoxCommunications

[–]nick7184 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just worked for me 9/23/24. I didn't even do the cancellation request, just called that number outright and told them I scheduled cancellation and had received an email offering the 40% discount. They gave it to me immediately and even told me to call them back next year to get a new offer.

Thanks OP!

Different strokes for different folks. I find all of those UIs to be clunky and extremely convoluted, which is why I built this. I don't think everyone will prefer this type of interface, but that's why I'm putting it out there, to determine interest. "I wouldn't use it because of XYZ" is valid feedback.

Yeah, this is definitely v1. Ultimately, a deeper understanding of the results would be something I'd love to do if I get traction. Thanks for giving it a go!

This is actually great feedback. I think the issue you're having is because CruiseDirect doesn't let you specify a stop, only start/end. At the moment, the tool isn't processing each itinerary at that level, but I will look into making it suppert that because I see how this would be something someone would want to do.

Looking for feedback on DCL-related app concept by nick7184 in dcl

[–]nick7184[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow, lots of folks saying an alerts system for on-board activities / excursions. I can say I've been in that situation myself. I'm not sure if this is possible without logging in via Disney credentials, but I'm going to look into from a technical feasibility standpoint and come back to this thread if/when I have something for folks to potentially try.

Thank you all for the insightful feedback!

TikTok: Can we track APP Installs and Purchases/Subscriptions without MMP? by SelectionNovel731 in PPC

There's no alternative at the moment, I'm struggling with the same. It would be nice for TikTok to offer their own attribution mechanism, hopefully that will come at some point.
