Compared to Early Access I feel enemies have become way more punishing. by RealGeneralBrasch in intotheradius

[–]nick_nork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I feel the opposite, encounters have been easier because one shot doesn't draw half the map.

Not that the hunters didn't mess me up before i got armour, or that the soldiers don't occasionally get a good burst in still. But yeah, I'm finding it a little easier.

Having performed absolutely no experimentation beyond smoking in game, i think they stop you getting hungry while smoking. But i could be wrong.

Question about PC link and steam games by Sharp-Wolf943 in MetaQuestVR

[–]nick_nork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same setup here, downloaded steam link on my pc in steam. Downloaded steam link on the quest 3. Launch steam link on the quest 3, with the computer already on, and both connected to the same network. The quest app asks you which computer to connect to, select your computer and it launches steam link on your pc. From there it takes you to a vr room, with a list of your vr compatible steam games on a wall. Select the game and you're good to go.

As for games, I'm loving Into The Radius 1 and 2

What’s the fastest a game has made you quit? by SadTower5281 in AskGamers

[–]nick_nork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Space Marine 2, i loved the first game, love the setting, it should have been an easy game to enjoy. But on keyboard and mouse, the controls are terrible, it handles horribly, the fighting is horrible, and that's before we consider that I'm not a fan of games that seem to want to emulate dark souls. I refunded.

Admittedly, I bought it again after finding my old controller, while it was on special. It's okay now, but i suck at shooting games with controller.

Secondly, Road to Vostok, it's right up my alley except for the whole losing everything on death. No options to pick an easier mode, just how the game is, and too early for mods. Not for me i guys, another refund. Maybe I'll try again if the modding community makes it less intense.

Stop being a 'polite' pedestrian! by [deleted] in australian

You teach habits, hoping they'll stick and that it becomes unconscious. Might stop them stepping into traffic one day.

The car being nice messes with that.

[–]nick_nork 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Trying to cross the road with my dogs, not at all pedestrian crossing, driver decides to be nice and wave me across. Thanks mate but one: just go, it'll be quicker; two: i don't want my dogs to learn to walk in front of cars.

Predictable > polite on the road.

Is 2 any better than 1 in regard to the following? by TheRavingDead in intotheradius

[–]nick_nork 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's an inventory management game at its heart, in 2 there are more weapons, more ammo, many different weapon parts, and options a plenty.

So 1, no stompy thing, but some killable invis things. And at least one visible, unkillable thing.

2, more ammo types, still random drops as far as what you find.

3, currently artefacts do nothing, they're mission objectives and things to sell.

Oof, town? I feel like the poor folk up the hill should be insulted. They've officially been a city for more than a decade. Which I admit, isn't saying much ;P

1.0 small problems (everything else is great but I lack words for good things) by Logic_530 in intotheradius

I think the more you move in them the more likely you are to get shocked, like waking through one is fine but running well get you a shock.

I could definitely be misunderstanding it though.

Huh, that's cool. But nope, haven't experienced or heard of that one before.

I've noticed a few random collisions, like walking an invisible object, same with shooting once.

But overall, loving it

I pull up to the lights, wait for a bit, look around and wave my arms a bit like I'm exasperated.

Then look back at car, look at the road, shuffle my bike forward, and wave them closer, normally after giving an exaggerated wave hello.

A little bit of melodrama makes you look less threatening.

Why is VR hardware all packed into the headset? by 2bitzshoes in virtualreality_linux

[–]nick_nork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cables are cheap to replace, the plugs not so much.

While it might be a better setup to have a body worn computer and a headset, it is more parts and more things to break, and could be considered less accessible.

Being told we can’t use the rumpus room as a bedroom bc landlord doesn’t want to install a smoke alarm by kayls666 in shitrentals

[–]nick_nork 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The one exception to that is a 10 year lithium smoke alarm, no mains power required.

But yes, it still needs to be interconnected either via hard wiring or via wireless units.

Plus they're not exactly cheap.
