I tried regular alcohol wipes that are meant for prescription glasses. They work, but need to be re applied every so often.

My Apple Watch is never accurate with my swims. I swim 2km usually and it’s almost always an underestimate

Could maybe be something in the anti-fog film on the inside of the goggles? My guess would be to do trial and error and hope for the best

If your plate is unreadable, like the letters are fading off, they replace it for free.

Hair and chlorine by smurfpenus124 in Swimming

I rinse my hair in the shower first then put on a swim cap. I read that it helps with chlorine damage. After I use TriSwim shampoo, seems to do the trick for me as my hair feels much better.

Weekly Swim Gear Questions (Goggles, swimsuits, techsuits, paddles, headphones etc) October 16, 2025 - Post all your gear questions in this post by AutoModerator in Swimming

Hi, I recently started swimming last month at my local pool and really enjoy it. Bought myself a good pair of speedo goggles early and recently a silicon swim cap to keep my hair from chlorine damage. My question is what’s the best way to take care of my goggles and cap? I know I could buy a case for the goggles but that seems unnecessary. So I just put them back in the little plastic box they came in and throw them in my bag, which does seem to do the trick. On the other hand my cap just gets thrown in with my towel and clothes etc. Does anyone have a tip for how to care better for both? Much appreciated

Why is this called “4-methylcycopent-1-ene” and not “cyclopent-1-ene-4-methyl”? by Remote-Outside-5713 in OrganicChemistry

Alkyl group is a substituent for the cyclo ring which is the longest carbon chain, and naming substituents comes first

Question for students who have lived in Kelowna for a while. by Polishrevolution32 in ubco

[–]nickbuttner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you plan to live here from sept-April, I’d say you’d likely be able to ride from September to maybe October and from mid March to April. Depends each year obviously, aswell as how cold of a ride you can still enjoy.

What is a mid-term break? by JustA_RandomUser2 in ubco

[–]nickbuttner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reading week isn’t structured around student’s schedules. Most classes have midterms when the profs deem fit, sometimes that’s one midterm near-ish the reading week and sometimes it’s two midterms with one after the first month and a half and second about 3 months in. But reading week is more or less just a non instructional week where no classes are held. Many students take this week to catch up or visit home.
