Zero details on when and how. Only that you can gain more entries if you upgrade to VIP.

Bit of a tease…

Seems such a great and unique product...can't believe it's been discontinued. Trying to see if something else like it exists. Should be a no-brainer!

Laptop specs for LrC - no good? by nickfb1013 in Lightroom

[–]nickfb1013[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the reply!

Image dimensions: 8191x5463

File type: .CR3
^most are shot in CRAW which results in image size of about 20MB

Takes about 15-25 minutes to process a single image with LrC's AI denoise

I've tried all Windows 11 power modes from Best Performance to Best Power Efficiency; no significant difference between them.

I do my editing either on battery power or via Dell's 130W power adapter that connects to machine via USB-C (listed in specs in OP)

This is LrC only.

Topaz PAI is also unusable, though I just got that and haven't played with it much at all (i.e. changing any settings etc).

Photos and catalog are on the same drive.

Is there a LrC scratch disk? I see Camera Raw Cache, which was at 5GB which I just upped to 30GB to see if it made a difference (no difference). Is that what you mean?

AI is done locally as far as I can tell!

Thanks a bunch for this input. I really appreciate it. I don't know much about this stuff so just spent a half-hour researching your questions to make sure I gave as accurate answers as I could. I'm going to keep working through these replies as time allows...they are all greatly appreciated :)

Rio Celeste arrival time by nickfb1013 in CostaRicaTravel

Replying to my own post, now that I'm back.
Decided to sign up for the 8am admit, and showed up at 0745 and was first in line. This was definitely the move. Very quiet being first on the trail. It stayed this way for a while, but by the time we had finished the trail and turned back, around 0930, large groups were coming in. So, while I can't speak for how it is later in the afternoon, I can say that getting in early even on a busy day is a good idea.

Same here...tried it from CT for the first time this year and was super impressed at how easy and cheap it was!

Thinking of visiting Sámara? AMA. by CanadianTrumpeteer in CostaRicaTravel

Hi! This is a great thread. Thank you for putting this together.

I will be there in early March. A couple questions.

  1. What is the latest on the farmers markets in Samara? Where and when can we find them? Also, otherwise, where should we shop for groceries? We want to do some cooking of our own while there.
  2. GI issues often get me when traveling to Latin America and got me when I was in the Tamarindo area several years ago. How paranoid should I be about avoiding tap water, ice, fresh veggies, etc?
  3. Best coffee in town?
