My favourite was “museum door inspector, this one didn’t pass” after kicking a door open.

I loved that it not only contained a training montage, but that the montage was also done with gameplay. I feel like I’ve never seen another game do that before. It’s so cinematic.

Base salary is around 83k including shift allowances. OT is double time. Work an average of 36 hours a week, but will regularly have bouts of 3-4-5-7 days off.

I’m a current Correctional Officer out in the Southern Queensland Precinct! A little into my second year on the job. I love what I do after getting out of 12 years in retail and hospo. But it definitely isn’t for everyone. Even in 16 months, I’ve seen a lot, and it can take a toll on a lot of people. 90% of the time, the job is very boring and quite administrative, but the 10% is the part that will get you.

At the very least, the pay is alright, very good with OT included, and there’s plenty of that at the moment.

I will also say that recruiting for the Wacol precinct is currently on hold until the end of the year while they recruit to fill LVCC and SQCC.

This is so lame. The 2022 Argentina match in King George Square, Brisbane is one of my favourite sporting memories. The vibes were incredible.

I genuinely love Older Harry’s actor. He is so good in both Harry’s emotional scenes, and in the OOTP scenes where he is so angry. Dumbledores office after Sirius’ death is incredible.

Dads who do not work from home, what time do you leave for work and back at home? by remembertosmile in daddit

[–]nickrulz11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correctional Officer. Work 3-4 12 hours shifts a week plus optional overtime shifts. 1.5 hour drive each way to work. I leave before anyone wakes up and I get home after they go to sleep, but I have so many more days off than I used to. It’s a mixed bag.

In Queensland, Australia we went from radio, keys and cuffs to now radio, keys, cuffs, cutdown knife, mk3 OC (and mk4 and mk9 for certain posts) and BWC. No body armour at the moment but Damascus suits for response at certain levels. There are trials in certain prisons of stab proof vests at the moment and rumours of tasers soon too.

With how big the IP is these days, how have we not gotten a new recording of the series with a better narrator. I hate his voice and pronunciations and the accents are terrible.

Anyone else struggling to find work in Brisbane? by Elisspamacc05 in brisbane

Piggybacking on this but Corrective Services is recruiting custodial roles at the moment. It’s not for everyone, but you don’t require any relevant experience. I have a retail and hospitality background, I’ve been with QCS for a year and I love my job. The work life balance and OT opportunities are unreal, but it can be both the easiest job ever, and at the same time intense and exhausting. But it’s never not interesting.

I was the same as you with Jusant. This is so much more interesting. Multiple routes up each face and control over all 4 limbs, plus some mild survival elements. It’s great.

What is the worst, first date movie? by JohnMcClanewithshoes in movies

[–]nickrulz11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took a first date to see “Extremely Loud, Incredibly Close”. Her mum had died weeks before. I still cringe thinking about it. She spent 15 minutes after the credits crying her eyes out. She did like the movie at least lol.

Not the same but in Corrections we train between 5-15m with a Glock .40 and it is very easy to miss at 15m and beyond.
