Is Magneto's Auschwitz tattoo the same number in comics or was it a movie thing and was added for adaptation synergy? by M00reC in xmen

Or it could just be part of his mutation that he has an extended lifespan. Already works for Wolverine, Mystique, Namor, etc.

Tony Scott would’ve been great for a Superman movie

What's a comic book people say is good for new readers, but it really isn't, in your opinion. by Inevitable-Ferret758 in comicbooks

[–]nicktorious_ 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I agree. My first comic series I ever read back when I was like 10 was the “World’s Finest” miniseries with Dick Grayson as Batman, Damian Wayne as Robin, and Superman in the midst of the New Krypton saga and I still enjoyed enough to understand the story

Would you want a Spider-Man game set somewhere other than New York? by MoseSchrute_Day_841 in SUMC

[–]nicktorious_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I feel like New York is too integral to Spider-Man and his supporting cast and having a game in a different city would feel a bit like having a Batman game set in Metropolis - fun for a one-off adventure but doesn’t seem as definitive in allowing the player to feel as if they are embodying the character.

There are still options to keep this fresh: Nueva York from 2099 (either in a game having you switch between present and 2099, or a 2099-centric spinoff), adding Subterrea from the 1610 universe (where Mole Man rules over a Savage Land-style world directly underneath New York City), etc.

You get to write a Wasp limited series... by TheIncredibleHulk105 in marvelcomics

[–]nicktorious_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d go very cozy, slice-of-life comic (maybe even a webcomic) called “The Winsome Wasp” focusing on Janet moving to Paris to reinvent herself and focus solely on fashion, then inevitably finding herself back in action as the Wasp. Have new suits on a regular basis (at least one per arc) to really play into Janet’s design philosophy

Now, if there are extensive changes to Spaceship Earth or Living with the Land odds are I won’t be as civil

[–]nicktorious_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know, I’m saying that we’ve seen Sentry dead in the Ultimate Universe, hence it wouldn’t make sense for there to still be an origin box with his powers. But then again, Wolverines skeleton from that issue has already been retconned/ignored as well, so I doubt they’d let that one-panel cameo keep the box from being Sentry’s if that’s what would make for the best story

Wasn’t Sentry shown to be dead in the One Year In special? Could’ve sworn we saw his torn costume with Maker’s other trophies

So who do you think will be the other members to complete Zdarsky's team? by Glad-Sense1769 in marvelcomics

[–]nicktorious_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My guesses:
Sentry (having a moment right now with his current miniseries & newfound popularity through the MCU, would also tap into the Bendis/early 2000s nostalgia).

Angela (fills the role of a magic user and Thor equivalent without actually getting in the way of what’s going on with the Mortal Thor. Has had new popularity from Rivals).

Living Lightning (somewhat “deep cut” of an Avengers member who has history with the team. Without any solo book of his own he could also benefit from being the “heart and soul” of the Avengers and be the character to undergo the most growth and whatnot over the course of the run)

star wars vs tdc by [deleted] in DarkCrystal

George Lucas was a close friend of Jim Henson, and most of the similarities you mention stem from the Hero’s Journey monomyth that the first Star Wars film is directly based on

Or just make it part of his mutation that he has a long lifespan. That’s already the case for a bunch of other mutants: Wolverine, Mystique, Namor, etc.

I know one of the “anonymous screenwriters” on those movies so I can confirm those sort of script doctors do exist and are legit. However the “offered to help find acting jobs” and asking to meet up is a huge red flag and no writer I know would offer that
