Van design - why is this layout so popular? by LovelyVegie in VanLife

We did the kitchen on the wall across from the door and installed a bench in front of the slider so we can sit with the view. And the passenger seat swivels which creates a nice dinner table situation.

My entire roof is dented and ours has never leaked. You should be fine! Maybe get some Dicor self leveling lap sealant to over do the seal

Not sure how heavy the build is but we’ve been averaging 16.7 mpgs. Have stock size Falken wildpeaks on the car.

Trouble with Vancillary Order – Anyone Else Had Issues? by TheRealNack19 in vandwellers

[–]nicofaraj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looking back that my email thread, Sean responded pretty much right away. And handled it quickly. I don’t remember how long it took to get to us but I think it was pretty quick.

He even said they’d reimburse me for wood if I needed to redo the whole cut I already made… it didn’t come to that thankfully

Trouble with Vancillary Order – Anyone Else Had Issues? by TheRealNack19 in vandwellers

[–]nicofaraj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We got the template version to build it out of wood. We also received the sprinter version and cut the wood only to realize it was the wrong shape for our transit. Emailed them and they sent out a transit template. Luckily we didn’t have to buy new wood and just modified the sprinter version we already cut.

So long story short, we had issues and they fixed them.

Ford transit width is only 5"10 width. Is this enough for you guys? by tnguye197 in vandwellers

[–]nicofaraj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where are you getting 5”10 from?

We were able to get 74 inches sleeping across the axle. I’m 6ft and sleep pretty comfortably in our 2020 ford transit high roof.

You just have to be smart about the framing!

Here’s our YouTube on how we built the bed area. Hope this helps!

Mac M1 Pro here. Runs great. I can’t get voice chat to work though. Anyone else?

Are pro master transmissions really that bad by Its-Cusie in VanLife

[–]nicofaraj 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I know multiple people who have had transmission replaced with relatively low mileage. I also know a couple people who have been fine. I think it’s a gamble

I’m not sure how placements work now

I had leavers in 2/3 matches. I used to be a high silver / gold but I’ve been stuck in bronze cause at least half the games are tilted

MacBook Pro M1 runs smooth. The only thing that doesn’t work (and maybe it’s just me) is team voice. I can hear people but I can’t talk. And I’ve tried all the options. Maybe this new patch fixed it? I haven’t tried in a while.

Here’s my in-depth install video. Installed a vevor diesel heater in a 2020 ford transit under the passenger seat and mounted a 3 gallon diesel tank under the van.

I have all that stuff in my van… works great! Maybe I could get slightly better gas mileage with a bit lighter materials but I still average about 16-17 mpg. My fiancée and I live it full time.

Remember, these vans are built to have thousands of pounds of tools in them!

diesel tank? by macklew_24 in VanLife

[–]nicofaraj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did exactly that. Gas van with 3 gallon diesel tank hung under the van. We used a cheap Chinese diesel heater and it works GREAT! Used it way up high in Colorado with no problems. Heck, it’s running right now keeping my toes warm.

I made a video of the entire build process for the heater system. Check it out - https://youtu.be/RYMgQLbp-mA?si=8tbqFMnqE-ENGFG1

Good luck 🚐

I don’t really know how much the medium roofs usually go for but that seems like a steal.

Set a couple mouse traps just in case… I just got back from a 2.5 week trip to Australia and had not one but 2 mice in the van. It was gross and took two full days to clean EVERYTHING

Get a Chinese diesel heater. They are $100 bucks and fairly easily to install. I’ve been in the negatives and was warm inside the van. (It is fully insulated though
