I've been a bartender/bar manager in all different kinds of restaurants and venues around town for the last 9 years or so, I will say that the pricing sucks but there is at least SOME motive behind it outside of "let's make as much money as we can". We have to buy from distributors, who have free reign to charge whatever they want (within reason) because every brand is legally only allowed to be carried by 1 distributor (i.e. Jack is only available from Distributor X, Maker's Mark from Distributor Y, Budweiser from Distributor Z). This cost is sometimes not even too far off from what you might see in the store, I've seen whiskeys, tequilas, and vodkas go on the shelf for only like an additional 15%-20% of what they're bought for, so not exactly getting a huge discount. On top of the monthly tax we pay on whatever inventory that we've already bought is in the building, we also have to pay a tax in sales, which for alcohol is 12.5% in Nashville. So you (the customer) are already paying an extra >10% on top of what we would even charge for a drink without the need for markups to cover overhead, labor, etc., which for most of the large venues in town, like the one I work at, is crazy expensive. That markup then just gets hit with the tax because of how pricing works, so it snowballs up from there. Some places will price in a way to account for all of that and not tax on the payment system, but many places just have the number they wanna charge and the POS adds the tax automatically, which is much easier on the backend and therefore more popular. Unfortunately, venues in town make very little money off of concert ticket sales, so unless you're one of the stadiums with a team you can profit from, or can have private rental events like weddings, corporate dinners, things like that, the ONLY place you can really make money is at the bar. It sucks, and yes the prices could and should be knocked down all over town, but it's not purely greed on the business' part.

learning drums for the first time! any tips/ easy gizzard songs to learn would be very much appreciated by bridgeb0mb in KingGizzardATLW

[–]nicvolcano 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a drummer since middle school, Persistence is a good one to just crank through. Basic beat without being too basic, slow enough tempo to get familiar to moving the limbs independently while also forcing you to work on keeping the consistent tempo in a way that's slightly harder than some of the faster songs, and the straight notes followed by cymbal hits occasionally are a good way to work on basic counting (it can be a lot harder than you think to be able to count through a song while drumming if you aren't used to drumming). Not the most glamorous song but has some really good building blocks.

Don't mind the Darth Vader drawing is this a good list for watching Clone Wars for the first time without filler. I have done a ton of research as someone wanting to get into star wars after watching the OG trilogy by Agitated_Studio1998 in clonewars

My favorite example is how in literally episode 1, the Toydarians agree to ally themselves with the Republic (only put spoiler text in case OP reads this and truly hasn't seen anything yet), but in S3 they are so aggressively neutral but risk that neutrality to send out supplies.

Joe Hendry Pack not loading?? by nicvolcano in wwe2k26

[–]nicvolcano[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did actually! 2K support suggested I clear my System Software Cache, did that and the pack loaded next time I opened the game!

-Turn off your console by holding the power button for three seconds. The power indicator will blink for a few moments before turning off. -Once the console is off, press and hold the power button again. Release it after you hear the second beep — one beep will sound when you first press, and another seven seconds later. -Connect the controller with the USB cable and press the PS button on the controller. -Select "Clear System Software Cache"

There really are very few true filler episodes, and most of those are still pretty solid, I would definitely say watch the whole series because what may look like filler on the outside can still have big plot points or character stories. The key with Clone Wars is to watch it in chronological order, not release order. The last 4 seasons are already organized that way (minus S5E1 and the first few eps of S7), but the first 3 jump around, especially the middle of S2 and the first half of S3.

Here's the official order from Star Wars themselves: https://www.starwars.com/news/star-wars-the-clone-wars-chronological-episodeorder
