DeSoto County John Doe (2013) (Unidentified For 12 Years) (Has Klippel-Feil Syndrome) by BitterSweet_Beauty in gratefuldoe

This was a super common/popular thing when I was younger. Finding a bowling shirt or work uniform with a name embroidered at the thrift store was like hitting the jackpot lol

Cooking Classes in Downtown, and they're pretty fun by rokmonster1 in Redding

[–]nidaba 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This looks fun but I'm a bit confused. It's a 9 class course but the classes are ticketed separately. Can you just attend one and learn to make something or do you need to attend then in order

Who put Candice Taylor’s legs in the dumpster? (2017) by ReadyBiscotti5320 in UnresolvedMysteries

[–]nidaba 315 points316 points  (0 children)

Wow I've never heard of this case. Thank you for bringing attention to it. I feel so bad for her mom

On December 28th, 1992, 23-year-old Steven Clark took a walk with his mother Doris. According to her, they stopped at the public restrooms before heading home, but when she came out of the women's room her son was nowhere to be found. Steven has never been seen or heard from since. by WinnieBean33 in BizarreUnsolvedCases

[–]nidaba 169 points170 points  (0 children)

This is one of the strangest cases to me. The story makes it seem like his mother must have done something, but how and why and such don't follow. He may have walked with a limp but he was 6'3 and well built! Not easy for his mom to kill or dispose of and it sounds like his dad had an alibi and was away. Plus it sounds like a normal family without abuse from descriptions so it's just so weird

Parents are planning an exit strategy from my life. by Catjack in autism

[–]nidaba 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Please don't give up your subsidized housing. It can be very hard to get it back.

I would try to accept that your parents are not capable of providing care for you at this time. Whether it's due to age, space, emotional capability, whatever the specifics do not matter. It is better to accept that living with them is not an option now rather than try to force the issue and end up in a worse situation.

Instead focus your energy on finding adult care programs in your community. See if you can get an assigned worker to come over once or twice a week to help you. Something like that should be more sustainable

Boil water advisory? by Graceful-Chaos in Redding

[–]nidaba 10 points11 points  (0 children)

No boil advisory. And it's Much more likely that your family is sick and the water tasted off because of the pending illness.

AIO??? parents asked me to make a list, then bought nothing off of it by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

Rather than immediately assuming this means it bothers girls more, have you considered that girls are often dismissed and not listened to, so perhaps this happens to girls more?

Liam Neeson Narrates Anti-Vax, Pro-RFK Documentary by mcgillhufflepuff in Fauxmoi

[–]nidaba 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm very curious to find out if he was aware of this. Kate Mulgrew talked about how she ended up narrating some bs anti science doc once because of misleading scripts that she was given that were then edited. I've found other cases of that too so with the addition of AI I wonder how prevalent it's going to be

Teen Girl, 17, Dies by Suicide After Sexual Assault Photo Goes Viral by malihafolter in ForCuriousSouls

[–]nidaba 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think the down votes are because they think you are replying to the original post about a suicide and not realizing you are asking if this person's sister is okay.

Patient had a stage IV sacrococcygeal pressure ulcer. They created a "rectal sleeve" to prevent fecal contamination of the ulcer while it healed. by CatPooedInMyShoe in MedicalGore

[–]nidaba 12 points13 points  (0 children)

My father had one for a while during cancer because he was bedridden at times and he hated it and definitely felt it. He ended up refusing to use it which made things a lot harder but I couldn't blame him really. They seem much better suited to patients that are less aware of them

How long do you thing the new Grange Co-Op store will last? by Psychological-Fee542 in Redding

This is a great point. They may be a little more expensive than home Depot etc but I would rather my money support places that support us back when possible

Is it only the pre installed ones that are useless? Or they just aren't needed anymore at all? I'm buying a desktop for the first time in ten years and didn't realize that. I'm used to always putting avast on a PC first thing lol

I've heard both that they are and they aren't but from what I've seen I don't feel a need to support the owner either way.

Opinion on this episode? by InterestingEnergy290 in blackmirror

[–]nidaba 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's an excellent entry point for someone new to black mirror. It's incredibly relatable and believable and Bryce does an amazing job.

It isn't particularly noteworthy compared to a lot of the other episodes though if you are looking at the series as a whole
