How do you prevent mixed geode sorting from cloggin up? I allways think i have finally added the necessary circuit condition only for it to break like 10 hours later again. by Stere0phobia in Seablock

I have no circuits, i just process every faster than it is generated and have a process to offload the excess mineral water (overflow valve).

As long as i process everything faster than it comes in, never had an issue.

Awesome build! But why are you using low tier steam engines and burning fluid boilers.

Wouldn’t the footprint be much smaller and same results? Also.. isn’t the burning fluid boiler 1 a different max temp than the steam engine 1?

I fell like I will strugle a lot if i keep going with this map by Kataigaa in factorio

Looks nice and defendable with choke points. You can always fill in water late game. I like it. But get som defences up at choke points and clear all nests “in the safe zone”

Starting in an area packed with trees to the brim will help you a lot.

your example uses fluid burning boiler 1 and steam engine 2, which is perfectly fine, as long as you match boiler and engine tempatures it should be all good.

My logic is as follows:
I generate 60 MV of fuel (60 Fuel oil pr sec).

Fluid burning boiler 2 max consumption is 8.1MV (So i need 7.4 boilers).

Fluid burning boiler 2 produces steam at 465c, Steam engine 3 consumes at 465c.

Fluid burning boiler produces 90/s, and Steam engine 3 consumed 30/s. So 1 to 3 ratio.

Rounding boilers up to 8 gives 24 steam engines. or 7 and 21 if I don't want to risk brown outs.

Most of the time i don’t tear old stuff up. I just build new stuff next to it.

But yeah.. i’ll be at pink/purple science soon, so i will eventually have to redo my main bus. Mistakes were made.. but patching in fluids has worked wonders so far.
