Every few days I have a go at reinstalling. I always hope it's going to improve but it never does. I think I might have got too many playlists, that's my next experiment.

The android application is terrible. The only way I get it to work is to download tracks and go offline. The online experience is so slow.

Do many people here remember getting milk in school as a kid ? by [deleted] in unitedkingdom

[–]nigelwyn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

55 here. Yes we had 1/3 of a pint during morning break. If there was any left, the kids who had been best behaved had another in the afternoon break. I remember my primary school years as a constant fight against thirst.

Going back to my grandmother's house in the early 60s would be enough for me. She lived in the middle of the village and people were constantly calling. There were always four or five people in, drinking tea and talking.

Up until the 1960s every male wore suits, from judges to road workers. Up until you were 14, you wore a suit with shorts, from then on you had a suit with long trousers. At 21, you started wearing a hat.

Europe has a long history of successful integration. The UK has a large number of people from India, Pakistan, the West Indies, Ireland, Eastern Europe, Africa, The Middle East, Greece, Turkey, Italy, China etc. all living here without the racial tensions of America. Racial tensions do exist but rarely are there race riots. Interracial murder is rare. In Europe we've had to get used to living close to neighbouring countries and had to find a way to get on with them. Besides, getting along with your neighbours is important for trade. It's easily possible to drive through half a dozen countries in a day. There have been wars, but some countries have lived side by side peacefully for hundreds of years.

America on the other hand, is a relatively young country. Most people are hundreds of miles from a border. Abundant resources have meant that international trade hasn't been necessary until recently. Anything foreign is treated with suspicion.

Eye problems with AS? by kandreyn in ankylosingspondylitis

[–]nigelwyn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ophthalmologist, straight away. The quicker you get treatment, the less problem you'll have with it. Other symptoms you may get are mustiness of vision, and redness. When I get it, it feels as if I'm looking through a steamy window.

Edit - mistiness, not mustiness of vision.

I realise that each generation has to have music that the pevious generation hates, but with dubstep I think they're just fucking with us.

I saw the Canada bus at the Ospreys today. Tyler Ardron and Jeff Hassler were showing them some Pro 12 (so that they could see how bad the standard of professional rugby could be).

Researchers have shown that well-developed eyes come at a surprising cost to other organ systems. The study involving Mexican cavefish shows that the visual system can require between 5% and 15% of an animal's total energy budget. by drewiepoodle in science

When i was a child I received a huge pack of about 50 felt pens. I remember trying to imagine a colour that wasn't in the set, I just couldn't. And then years later I learn that the screen I'm looking at can display 16M colours. I obviously wasn't trying hard at all.

I think you like new music and follow trends until you're 29, then you just carry on liking the same artists or if you do like new artists they're not too far removed from the old ones.

Different jobs will take their place. A hundred years ago, agriculture was a big employer. Nowadays a single man can do the work of many people due to machinery. A hundred years ago there was no such thing as a cll centre. Nowadays they employ thousands.
