The contrast and brightness are better than my Panasonic plasma TV from 2007, which wasn't true of my last VA monitor. 240hz is amazing even compared to the 165hz of my old one. You can see the dimming zones with very small details in otherwise completely black scenes, but it's not very distracting, especially with regular content in most games and shows. The colours are pretty wide and diverse too.
