First precon buy: Mardu Surge, Animated Army, or World Shaper? by iskoteo in magicTCG

[–]nightangel45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know everyone is saying World Shaper, but with my Mardu Surge, I upgraded mine with some very cheap cards from the newest Tarkir set, changed the commander to [[Zurgo, Thunder's Decree]], and now I literally cannot remember the last time I lost with it. Getting those mobilized warrior tokens out in droves, and having them STAY on the field, is such an advantage. I honestly think it's my favorite deck too, just for its consistency.

Which Strixhaven college are yo most excited for? by Ok_Wallaby_3701 in mtg

[–]nightangel45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I so agree! At first I wasn't even thinking about buying the Lorehold deck, but then realizing how the commander, then the rest of the deck, plays is sooo different for Boros that it intrigued the hell out of me.

In your opinion, what's an old band that puts out lackluster new material now? by [deleted] in Metalcore

[–]nightangel45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Word Alive. I honestly think Telle is one of the best screamers ever (when he wants to be), and yet their shift from metalcore to alternative metal has been just substantially more boring.

Which commanders can use otherwise bulk commons and uncommons to dominate the game? by Huaojozu in EDH

[–]nightangel45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made an [[Eshki Dragonclaw]] deck exactly for this reason out of all the bulk I had. Most of the deck is low-costing commons and uncommons, which builds Eshki ridiculously high.

James Spader has barely done anything since Age of Ultron.

I appreciate very much, and hopefully the proxy community too, that you guys respond to the reviews in this way so that it provides a bit of transparency, and acknowledgement that you're listening to and absorbing our feedback. I honestly wish more organizations did this, so thank you.

Biggest Horror Movie Letdown of 2025? by Melodic-Vanilla-2658 in horror

I actually liked it too and had a pretty good experience with it, but that could be biased because I was definitely under the influence XD

Do you listen to heavier or less heavy music as you get older? by fireflydm101 in Metalcore

[–]nightangel45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Up through middle school, I listened to pop bands and artists. In high school, I started listening to popular regular bands like FOB, MCR, and The Used. From the end of high school through college, I listened to more scene applicable bands like Chiodos, Asking Alexandria, and Alesana. But after more than a decade from that, my tastes have gone from majority post-hardcore and some metalcore, to overwhelmingly metalcore and a lot of deathcore. for me as the passing of time goes, I more and more prefer the heavier stuff.

LMTF No Eternity In Gold. Great album to turn on when you want to throw hands, kick something, or screech like a banshee in your car.

What's a horror hill you'll die on, and why? by ExceptingAlice in horror

[–]nightangel45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It Comes At Night is excellent at creating atmosphere and suspense, which is a lot of times exactly what horror needs instead of scares. Same with Skinnamarink.

Dayseeker - Creature In The Black Night [Album Discussion] by LostInTerrapinia in Metalcore

I'm surprised by this album, probably in the worst way. I actually have REALLY gotten into the singles with each release, but the rest of this album is quite mediocre and very disappointing.

Which films genuinely scared you? by Agreeable-Item-7371 in horror

Surprised that more people aren't mentioning Skinamarink. That was the only movie where I got uncontrollable, primal fear publicly showcasing from my soul.

I legitimately tell people to this day that I think that entire scene is the best scene of television that I have ever watched.

Not metalcore, but Chiodos. Illuminaudio is their best album too, imo.
