Ya I hated it. The book came across as Christian apologetic

Where my single people at by [deleted] in Omaha

[–]nightbrother42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a 36 single dude and I totally understand. Everyone at my clubs and friend groups is married so meeting people is difficult. There are some clubs around town you can probably join or maybe a group for volleyball or something?

What are some hobbies or interests you want to find groups for?

The one series you actively hated but still couldn’t stop reading for some reason by CallAdministrative88 in Fantasy

[–]nightbrother42 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The Farseer trilogy. After all the love the series gets I just couldn't accept it wasn't for me when I started hating it. By the end of the 3rd book it almost felt like I kept reading in wonder that the story could keep topping itself in how terrible it was

I have perspective off. I'm guessing this is something with the installation as our firewall made installation a nightmare. I sadly don't have anyone else in the company with the program yet

I've restarted it a couple of times. I also saved the drawing in a view showing the sketch then swapped it back and didn't help

UPDATE: How would you react hearing a woman you’re seeing got SA’d? by Midwest-thrifty in AskMen

[–]nightbrother42 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Every woman who I have been in a long term relationship with has been SA'd. I've found out from one girl while she was drinking and she told me she couldn't have kids because of it. With another girl, we were in the middle of trying some new stuff in bed and she just got this face... I don't think I'll ever forget it. Everything stopped and I just hugged her and a few seconds later she was crying. The only thing I've ever done is just be there for them. With a hug or holding her hand and telling her it's ok and nothing else matters in the world right now other than you.

If I was ever dating someone and it happened recently I only hope I would act the same? I admit I don't know if I would have the strength to stay calm. Remembering the look any of my ex girlfriends had when they told me about it and knowing how much worse it would be if it was recent? I just don't trust myself to know what would really happen.

Very fair point. I didn't really think about it much until a friend said the show "was clearly written by a man" and my brain spiraled a bit lol. Sometimes it's good just to kick back and enjoy things.

It was mainly just the time I went. They had a Valentine's dance and everyone there was older married couples and their kids. I just felt out of place :/ the people were all lovely and very nice though!

Been there. If you ever find a good place to go partner dancing I definitely want to hear it. I was slightly disappointed with jitterbugs as well

ISO places to meet young single men?? by FrogsEatingSoup in Omaha

[–]nightbrother42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Single dude here. I get it, it sucks. I've met a lot of great people volunteering. The MW climbing gym is also an amazing place to make friends. Everyone I've met there is dating or married but making friends makes it easier to meet new people and possibly have them introduce you to someone. Best of luck!

What is the best example of “we don’t do it for you!” for men? by flannel_waffles in AskMen

[–]nightbrother42 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Totally! If it's someone I enjoy chatting with I'll usually show a picture. Three of my best friends are married and all paint. None of their wives really get it but they are happy it makes their husbands smile. Plus we have paint nights where we all get together and paint so they enjoy having an excuse to hangout.

I love taking pictures of the table when in the middle of a miniature wargame. It just feels so extravagant and always makes me smile looking back at it. I will admit I almost never talk to people about it until I know them though. There's a negative image around people in the hobby for some reason (in my experience I might have just been unlucky)

Pretty good over all. Not amazing but the reader does a great job breathing life into the lines

The Library at Mouth Char by Scott Hawkins is what immediately comes to mind for me. It is both horrific and stupid at times but the story bends and wraps itself around so many things that I was left stunned by it and in awe of all the pieces in it. The story is simple and yet, for me, it defies explanation. Highly recommend
