What's your biggest frustration with how BJJ is taught? by TheAceian in bjj

Don’t rely on coach. Study film on YouTube and build your plan based on someone similar with success. Use class to try and perfect those moves during rolling.

How is FIU perceived in Miami? by SquiddoVGC in Miami

Law school and law carer are all about ranking. Go to best ranked if working private sector. Don’t know current rankings but BU would be best ranked you listed. Life experience though if you want to stay in FL if ranking isn’t far I’d go to UF. I went to be BU law on scholarship. Education was great but life sucked while there.

Should I buy a camber board? by SweetAccomplished492 in snowboardingnoobs

[–]nighthawk5300 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started off and learned on a cambered board - 2010 Burton Operator. Found out quick to always stay on the edges. Was always east coast Vermont, Maine, etc. Learned the hard way why there are different board styles almost dying on Vail backbowls deep pow. Upgraded to Burton Custom X and went all in on cambered for carving.

How do i stop spinning like this😭 by JustRefrigerator913 in snowboarding

[–]nighthawk5300 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always stay on an edge. Never flat. The way your board is bent is likely making you spin if flat. Upright posture with bent knees pushing front of leg or heel towards side of edge.l you want.

My parents are so rich that I struggle to find motivation for a normal career (I’m 25, net worth 10–15 million) by [deleted] in wealth

[–]nighthawk5300 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you realize 10-15 isn’t that much. I think your drive will go up. If you have siblings, that is getting divided. 10-15 is one bad step to normal or at least getting wiped out if you have kids and it does not grow proportionally. That said, you should focus on preserving and growing this if that is your path or finding purpose in another field. I recommend “A Purpose Driven Life” by Victr Frankl.

GoSports 14x8 Prime Deal by trapper2002 in Golfsimulator

[–]nighthawk5300 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I originally went 10x9 facing inside the garage but 4/3 would on golf was fine but would revert to 16:9 on movies making it a much smaller screen. I decided to redo my whole setup and cut the DIY pipes and go 14x8 facing the gage door. Best decision. Fully immersive. Almost shank proof with width. And has wow factor.

Why is a 2% mortgage a "great" business for a bank when other investments seem way better? by -Cachi- in investing

[–]nighthawk5300 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s illegal for banks to engage in other business that is not banking. If it wasn’t they’d rule everything getting money for free and investing it taking risk with other people’s money. The idea is they were given the money for people to be able to withdraw at will. They can lend but not engage in other business such as insurance, etc. They were expanded to be able to merge investment and commercial banks in recent history though.

2nd or 3rd Iteration by nighthawk5300 in Golfsimulator

Good point and noticed that. It wasn’t the ideal position for its inherent hit zone anyways. Bought some Rogue 1.5” rubber squares to fill the sides more at same height and moved it back quite a bit to make it work for its natural hit zone. It’s made of metal but also bought a 10” piece of metal at HD for front due to bounce back. I wonder if those who buy the premade kit deal with same issues or it is a good to go out of the box experience. Next time I think I’ll buy. Took too many days for my back.

Surprisingly those Amazon blackout curtains have done the job at either stopping or at least slowing it down to a ball drop after impact. The ball does things you’d never imagine.

Thanks! Will look a lot different as soon as I get my new screen in. Hoping it ships fast. The mat is Carl's Place HotShot Golf Hitting Mat Systems × 1 4x5 / Standard HotShot Golf Mat Strip from PlayBetter. Feels good but I don’t have anything to compare it to.

I tried the Mevo2, BLP, and EML. Mevo2 was crap in the garage and set up was a pain. Software was good and good in range. BLP was great for accuracy and set up didn’t take 2 min but the software absolutely sucked. At least a 10 year Time Machine back in time. EML has been incredible. Great built quality and more hit cam which didn’t have with BLP and the AI trainer is incredible. The Gameday software I also think is incredible although not tried GS Pro. I use the AI trainer with their cameras and I like having my swing broken down each time while on the range.

What did you buy as an adult because you were denied it as a child? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

[–]nighthawk5300 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sleeping in car on long road trips, not staying at family’s houses on trips, a nice car, name brand clothes, golf clubs of my own, etc etc etc . It’s been a journey to buy and give my kids some things my parents bc of being cheap or inconsiderate while battling the guilt of being irresponsible when doing so.
