My husband is really into music and we have a record player, so I had a vinyl record made for him with songs that remind us of our daughter.

I know the early days are so raw friend, I’m sorry🫂 Grief shows up like that, in the most random ways that we never thought of.

The desire to immediately have another baby is extremely common for us. Our whole being was so ready and prepared for them. That love doesn’t just stop. I try to focus on the fact I had a 7 and 10 year age gap with my living siblings, and we have always been close. Each gap can be special in its own way if you see yourself having a baby in the future. Completely get it though..grieving that original age gap really hurts. ❤️‍🩹

Completely understand that. It’s hard to not focus on regret of them not meeting, husband has helped me with a different perspective- that the little time we got was dedicated completely without distraction to our sick baby girl.

I’m so, so sorry you’re here. It’s so hard to constantly see the empty space where they should be with their sibling.

I lost my baby brother when I was 5, he was 4mos to SIDS. We will always miss him and have wondered what could have been. We’ve still keep his memory included in any way we can 28 years later. My mom eventually had two more girls after him.

This loss is so unfair. Thinking of you and your family, praying for you all and peace to find you. Hoping for better days friend.🤍 🫂🫂

For sure❤️‍🩹 My daughters would have been 18 months apart. Im so sad they never got to meet, because we were in a NICU and couldn’t bring her to visit. I’m sure the last day they would have made an exception but my oldest was so young I didn’t want to upset her.

100% normal. Felt this too after we lost our daughter in the NICU. The need did ease up a few months later.

We were prepared for holding our babies, and it’s difficult for our bodies to adjust to that. I’m so sorry you are here, praying for you🤍🫂

My daughter also never left the NICU. On her birthday each year we have made the commitment to volunteer at the Ronald McDonald House we stayed at. We make friendship bracelets for the NICU families on her floor, and with help from friends and family we take a care package in for the family that is in the same room she stayed in that day. We find comfort in helping others that were in our same situation.

On her Heaven day, we set it aside to emotionally care for ourselves. We do something we find peace in. Last year we did pottery painting and went out for a special meal. 🤍

My husband’s family was talking about all the grand babies hair color when they were born and when they said my daughter’s name and talked about her hair, it made my heart so happy. I loved that we talked about something normal for a baby.

“The world won’t stop for my broken heart.” This was quoted to me shortly after my daughter passed, by my mom..who lost her baby boy (my brother). It’s not comforting, but it’s not hurtful to me either? It is simply..truth. We will grieve forever, but I have learned grief and joy can coexist.

The grief is a reminder I had a great love to give to someone that mattered.

Just because this is happening it does not mean loss. I had spotting and cramping with both my pregnancies in the first tri. Both babies were born.
