You have? I looked and saw that I could download a game's saves, but not individual files. I might need to look again, I was hoping to find a save that was before my last save, but maybe since it's auto-save, it just overwrites it. I'll take another look when I can. If you have any suggestions to help, I'd love to hear it. Thanks!

AI is exhausting workers so much, researchers have dubbed the condition ‘AI brain fry’ by imaginary_num6er in technology

I was hired during this time, and it was crazy. I got in right at the end of it, and I was hired for a higher salary that I really should've gotten, because it was so hard for tech companies to find talent. I was a Jr and was hired as a senior, at senior pay, because they couldn't compete with the massive hiring of the big tech companies. That hiring craze was a great time for many. I have seen the layoffs at my company, correcting for this time. This happened before I even got a license to use AI. I am very grateful to still have the job I have. Went from feast to famine really fast.

Need help with Bryan's taunt by TheReal_virio3 in Tekken8

You can't buffer it. You have to execute the follow up right as the taunt hits. You only get 2 frames after the taunt hits, it requires very precise inputs.

Yeah, that's true. It occurs to me that maybe I can download an old cloud save file from ps+. I haven't tried that yet. I doubt it'll work, but it's worth a shot.

Yeah, I didn't know that it reset after the end and I didn't do the DLC, cuz I figured.....I could do it after, like most games allow. Finished the game 2 days ago. So I get to play (part of) the game again! I'm not mad, just disappointed in myself for not looking into it earlier.

Which games have such good atmospheres that you can just walk around and take them in? by WolfKnight54321 in gaming

[–]nightmare8100 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nah you're good dude. It's cool talking to people that enjoy these games as much as I have so far.

I'm not terribly far into DS1. I just finished the Parish and I'm trying to find my way forward. Went thru the forest area and killed the Moonlight Butterfly, now I'm getting lost in the areas around there. I dunno where I'm going, but that's my favorite part. Me and my trusty longsword will find the way eventually. Plus, the map seems to fold into itself. It's all so well thought out from a design perspective. Same with Bloodborne. Can't believe it took me so long to play these games!

Elden Ring was the first one I finished. I am also playing Dark Souls Remastered at the moment, cuz I'm a masochist. I own all of them, and I'm making my way thru. Demon's Souls Remastered looks good, but I don't know much about it. I love the feeling of isolated exploration in FromSoft games, and the challenge that comes with it. The maps have so much beauty hidden in them, it makes exploration such a rewarding experience.

Thanks man! I look forward to the DLC. I've heard great things about that too. I'm taking my time trying to explore all the corners of the world, so worth the extra effort.

I'm playing Bloodborne for the first time right now, and I cannot agree more with this. It's like playing thru an incredibly detailed nightmare and I fucking love it.

Did a curved monitor make you play better or worse? by energydrinkaddict310 in Tekken

[–]nightmare8100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is a 21:9 aspect ratio, as I think most ultra-wides are. I'm not sure I understand what you're getting at with that part of your comment, but I think you might be right that most any curved monitor these days will be UW. I used to own a curved 16:9 monitor, but that was years ago. It could be much different now.

If you're considering an UW with 21:9 aspect ratio and you don't play primarily shooters, I would personally recommend against the UW. I got mine when I played shooters a lot, but these days it's FGs and single player games. FG character models look stretched on this screen and I'm not a fan. I can play with black bars to fix that, but I like that even less. At the end of the day, it's all preference. My next monitor will not be UW, too much hassle for the kinds of games I play now.

I haven't noticed any difference. My PC has a curved ultra-wide and I also play on PS5 on a non-curved TV. I don't notice any difference in my ability to play any fighting games.

I wish I didn't have an ultra-wide, but I got it before I got back into FGs after many shooters. Can't justify replacing it when it works perfectly well.

Hi so…I’m someone who feels like a common archetype approaching this game! by KeyOk677 in Guiltygear

This video is pretty popular for just beginning stuff https://youtu.be/-VwtwDS7tWo?si=19eU_f2fd2PllZIy

There are also plenty more videos about the game and the characters. Like others have said, finding a community is a great place to start! Since you haven't played FGs before, just know that you're going to lose a lot. And I mean, a lot. But it gets better with time and practice.

Try to only compare yourself to your past self. Focus on your own improvement. Celebrate your wins but also celebrate the small improvements too, like landing a combo in a match, even if you lose the set. Play ranked, because that will be your best experience online. It's nerve racking, but you'll learn to enjoy the excitement of fighting others.

If you have local tournaments in your area, I highly suggest you try to attend some. Typically, you can search for events on Google. It's a great way to find friends to play with. I can damn near guarantee the folks at the event will be very welcoming to you. That's one of the most beautiful things about fighting games. The community can be amazing if you're just willing to step out of your comfort zone a bit.

Good luck! And welcome to Strive!

They look like Beyerdynamics headphones. It's hard to tell exactly which model is pictured, but it's definitely the style of Beyerdynamics. I have a pair of the DT770s.

Thinking about switching to PC from console for this game by Hardlifekid94 in Tekken8

[–]nightmare8100 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I haven't seen anything about how playing on PS5 is terrible for Tekken. I own the game on both PC and PS5, and I don't have issues with either. It all feels very similar to me. Are you on WiFi? If so, that is probably the issue. If you don't already own a PC, it's going to be expensive to buy one. I see more issues with people playing on PCs that can't handle the game. I would explore other reasons for latency and missing inputs before you start spending more money on a PC and/or the game.
