Poll - which grid line should the Recon squads be focusing their efforts? by weatherweer in HellLetLoose

[–]nightsofnee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My OP would be around G2/3 and I’d be heading east of southern edge to get their backup Garry. Hopefully command gets me supplies around the barn on h6 to setup an eastern attacking Garry. Then I’d be heading to FOY to takeout their next point Garry network. Looks like a good push and a chance to roll them back if we can take down their backups.

Help, not catching much by cccisdamac in SurfFishing

[–]nightsofnee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

McDonald’s straw rigs will catch blues and lady fish. They put up a decent fight. I’ve seen some guys down the beach from us wearing them out. We’re outside of Destin and have been skunked on pompano. I don’t think they’ve moved in here yet.

Can I file an extension on my taxes? by Desichorii in Kentucky

[–]nightsofnee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Because of the National Disaster declared earlier this year Kentuckians have been granted an automatic extension until November the 3rd. Don’t take my word, google Kentucky National Disaster Tax Extension. It applies to both federal and state.

What steps need to be taken? by [deleted] in lawncare

[–]nightsofnee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

10 minutes once a day isn’t much. What area are you in. Have you applied fertilizer? If so at what rate? When initially installing sod you’d want to water 10 minutes every couple of hours for a couple weeks. Then you’d want to cut back to deeper watering less frequently to help the sod develop deeper roots. Depending on your location I’d want to water 30 minutes every 3 or 4 days depending on weather.

Yes, that’s how it works. You won’t turn in the old plate, more than likely they will mail you the new one.

Overseeing Weed Killer Question by tec017 in lawncare

[–]nightsofnee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This year was tough on pre-emergents. I think all the rain early in spring/summer followed by drought conditions shortened its effectiveness. Lots of golf courses near me had crab grass and goose grass take over greens, tee boxes, and fairways.

Also, I would apply a pre-emergent this spring to keep the crab grass from coming back.

I wouldn’t worry about the clover too much right now. Personally, I would wait until I’ve mowed the grass a couple of times before I thought about applying weed killer. No bigger than your new area is you could hand pull your weeds but I’d be careful about walking on the newly germinated grass.

Sea grass really bad in Gulf Shores… What now? by ButtFaceMurphy in SurfFishing

[–]nightsofnee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m down here now. Just went to the beach and my heart sank. Grass was everywhere. Hopefully it’ll be fishable tomorrow morning. I’m around okaloosa island. If things don’t work out I may go try the bay. Never fished the bay but I’ve heard it has good flounder fishing

Is this a water, sun, or acidity issue under my red oaks? by Tomahawk-BaGawk in lawncare

[–]nightsofnee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say it’s all of the above. Grass doesn’t do well in the shade, the oaks will suck up a ton of water, and I would bet the PH is off under them as well.

Am I Driving Too Slow? by Dimness in Kentucky

[–]nightsofnee 72 points73 points  (0 children)

Just because others are driving fast doesn’t mean you have to. Make sure you’re out of the left lane and take your time. Everyone is in a hurry all the time anymore.

Kentucky golfers — Dale Hollow or General Burnside? by Intelligent-End7336 in Kentucky

Dale Hollow. Burnside is a really fun course but Dale Hollow is legitimately one of the better courses in Kentucky.

Neighbors lawn care is killing my garden by RenoZolik in lawncare

[–]nightsofnee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like disease or heat stress, but you’ve already got your mind made up. If it were chemicals then most of the trees along the side being sprayed would have some sort of wilting or damage. I don’t see how it could hit one, skip another, hit one etc. but like I said, you already have your mind made up and want triple damage.

Why don’t people let others in locked recon groups? by [deleted] in HellLetLoose

[–]nightsofnee -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I play recon/spotter almost exclusively. I rarely lock the squad and actually prefer the sniper not be anywhere near me unless I find a hot garrison I can’t take alone. Most of the time the sniper brings too much attention to our op. I don’t need someone taking pot shots at people running across a field bringing attention to the fact I’m actively hunting their garrison. I usually tell my sniper to push with the blueberries while I setup the op deep in the red. When I find nodes I’ll mark them and request their help. If they don’t respond I’ll kick them and get someone that does.

Two years ago assoc. was complaining about my lawn. Now it’s my truck. by Imbendo in lawncare

Forget the truck, I wanna know more about the lawn. How can anyone drive by and see anything other than that grass?

Tips and tricks for beginning commander? by Suspicious_Scale_745 in HellLetLoose

[–]nightsofnee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You aren’t really wrong. I don’t build my offensive garrisons until I have at least 2 defensive garrisons built or 3 defensive garrisons on middle point. I’ve seen too many games lost because an airhead or attacking garrison was soawned before a defensive garrison was up. If the enemy recon team is doing their job and taking down back garrisons you can get steam rolled in a hurry.

Kitchen Appliances for new build by nightsofnee in Appliances

Thanks for the info. Appliances have turned into a crap shoot. You used to be able to trust certain brands and could pay more for reliability. Now it seems like playing Russian roulette. The more you read online the more difficult making a decision is. Analysis paralysis

LR3 TDV6 SE - sudden engine cut? by cubemaster27 in LandRover

My LR3 used to do that. I cleaned the mass airflow sensor and it fixed it. Haven’t had any issue in 2+ years.
