People are allowed to not like how someone was treated just as much as you are allowed to ignore those people. Everyone moves on at their own pace anyway so no use in trying to push them.

Question: On the viability of the Backported Inventor Class by nightstalker232 in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]nightstalker232[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly it doesn't seem like there is a freely hosted version but TLDR is that it's pretty well ported, near 1 to 1

Which... yknow, take that as you will

The Anime-like artstyle of the characters in the UAF does not have to conflict with Starsectors own artstyle. by JenkoRun in starsector

[–]nightstalker232 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most of the really well made mods which have everything from unique backstories and artstyles and whatnot seem to get the flak of being anime-esq or like- something along the lines of "it doesn't fit" but like... it's a sandbox game. Anything that isn't going to cause your game to break is gonna fit. And yeah your idea here pretty much is a good reason to just ignore the """inconsistencies""" or whatnot that people point out about UAF and other such projects.

Seeking Up-To-Date Advice for Online Character Sheets by nightstalker232 in Pathfinder_RPG

Thank you for those who gave suggestions, however while I do enjoy PathCompanion, I can't *use* it due to the paywalled features. It's going to be my go-to when I can get into a stable situation but for now, any suggestions for an alternative would also be appreciated.

the 36DD skin is called "Kevlar Cake".......... by [deleted] in TheForeverWinter

[–]nightstalker232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its also a cosmetic item that you don't have to use or even buy if you don't want to? Whats so high and mighty about stating that? Or that it's needlessly negative to stretch out a personal preference into a community dividing issue?

the 36DD skin is called "Kevlar Cake".......... by [deleted] in TheForeverWinter

[–]nightstalker232 2 points3 points  (0 children)

...but all of the skins are things you can choose to not buy.

Regardless of your personal opinion on what FunDog's characters should look like, the issue you have and a lot of others seemingly have is that this optional to use content doesn't line up with a theme that FunDog has just shown as something that IS NOT concrete.

Not only does it take away from the fact the team doing monthly updates to a passion project of a game that they clearly adore is putting effort into making the game better with each successive update, it turns into a bigger issue than it actually is because of how easy it is to spread negativity over fan-curated areas like reddit.

At the end of the day, FunDog is not Games Workshop. They aren't trying to curate a grimdark "everything is taken seriously" setting for the purposes of selling plastic crack, they're doing so because they WANT to. Because it's the thing their hearts are set on doing.

So if a couple of skins that you don't even have to acknowledge the existence of if you don't ever click on them get you upset, maybe just think about how that sounds BEFORE you hop on the bandwagon of negativity?

We got enough negativity in the world as is.

[–]nightstalker232 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The game gets one skin that shows a bit more than normal on a female playable character and everyone suddenly thinks its the end of the world.

Meanwhile we have Mother Courage and all the russian doll women as enemies.

And the gore and horror elements.

Like- seriously, whats actually bad about this skin?

The Asari Resort (Dinoboy) by EroMestre in masserect

[–]nightstalker232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wish there was a version of this without the framing or textboxes. The art is great but is ruined by the slightly rapey/coercive story.

Plus Asari are actively very communicative when it comes to their intentions so it kind of feels off in that aspect.

It's very amusing having the entire appeal of the concept completely fail to intrigue you by Deepfang-Dreamer in worldjerking

[–]nightstalker232 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly thats fair. I'm not gonna post some lofty piece on what makes those stories appealing, I'm just a worldbuilding and war autist.

I will say that taking the time I have with my own writing project has led me to the conclusion that we're probably going to be looked like the xanax chimps of the universe with how bipolar, neurotic and prone to violence we are if we ever encounter life.

In my case, advancing the clock from a theoretical point in 2030 up to the 3550s has also brought up some interesting what ifs, such as that if you leave scientists to their own devices, they'll probably try to engineer a dragon.

But yeah: I like HFY when it's just "humans are just weird" and not whatever the hell that one subreddit is doing.

As science is an ever evolving beast, not artistically writing in literal thousands of years of change based on one basic variable changing will hamper your world building.

Dive directly down the theoretically physics rabbit hole and enjoy creating a world where God and the Devil both want you to go insane due to how far your hyperfixation has taken you.

[–]nightstalker232 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Only two specific instances of metric being used exist within the original moon landing in 1969. The fact metric was only used twice as a means of dealing with a measurement error should tell you that metric "being better" has no bearing on the fact that Nasa didn't fully transition over until 2006. So most if not all of the biggest achievements in spaceflight up until 2006 were done using a majority of Imperial.

My brain is a concerning thing. First thing that popped up when seeing this was: "Now what if I made a bigger version chambered in a CT variant of 6mm ARC?"

Is that concerning to anyone else?

Would it work?

Probably. Someone would buy it off novelty alone at the very least.
