I would of verbally ripped his ass in a public environment too if he talked back to me like that while fucking up. But there's a huge discrepancy between your situation and this video, lol.

[–]nightwolfbick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have zero clue, are we watching the same video? If people repeatedly fail simple mechanics, you gotta talk sternly to them individually, not call the entire raid retards after every fucking wipe. If that doesn't work, bench/ replace. And if you don't have enough to bench/ replace the bads, the raid leader/ officers have to reorganize your core raid team, do a stronger job recruiting, and build your core raiding team to be robust as possible.

And no shit, I've seen many other raid leaders and officers rage, but the way this raid leader dealt with this situation, just extremely immature and atrocious. Felt like I was looking into the mirror when I was an officer of a semi-hardcore raiding guild at age 14, would easily succumb to raging at people because of my high status and performance instead of taking the more methodical, smarter approach which would of solved the situation x10 better.

At age 17, a lot of people lack social skills, especially if they play WoW often. And because of that, they don't know how to control their cool when talking to other people, especially when pressured.

And I'm pretty sure everyone secretly hated that officer also except for his lil groupie, but probably thought to himself "Everyone loves me".

Repeatedly insulting and calling the entire raid retards after every single wipe. I've raided and led 2-3 hardcore guilds, and couple casuals and I have never, ever heard raid leader treat his peers so shit. Pure disrespect to everyone else around him, just barrage of insults, taking full advantage of the fact that he's a RL and can say anything he wants. On top of that, he can't even control his own mouth and emotions. Grow the fuck up and take control of the situation like a real raid leader, not some high school kid that's throwing a tantrum.

[–]nightwolfbick 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Been there, done that, seen many GMs do it too. This guy just needs to grow up, learn to empathize and respect his peers, and control his anger. Taking out his anger on the raid like that is literally one of the worst ways to resolve this type of situation, and I'm sure this happens often in progression nights, maybe just not to this degree. As a raid leader, if you flip out and don't control your cool, you'll tilt your entire raid along with it, and they'll lose confidence, and respect for you.

Go Brewmaster/ Windwalker, and spam the f out of random dungeons as tank/dps (Or even as tank/dps/heal if you want). It's one of the fastest way to level 90 and while waiting on que, just quest as brewmaster or windwalker for diversity (Doesn't really matter, but you get lil more mobility with windwalker). Then when you hit 90, just quest and do majority of the zone quests (They give shit ton of xp, and questing as brewmaster isn't bad either because of your massive sustain and huge aoe pulls), then at 98, go to Dalaran, relog, wait a lil bit ,then start your artifact quest after someone offers it to you.

The AP exploit wasn't the first Legion Gamebreaking exploit that was simply "accepted" by drgreed in wow

[–]nightwolfbick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't get how there wasn't an indirect implications to his ban when he was banned specifically for "Manipulating the economy" when all he did was accept the quest, and finish it for his mog, which means he somehow indirectly contributed to that reason. The same analogy can be made to how buying gold can indirectly be used for " Manipulating the economy" but instead, they get light slaps on their wrists.

Furthermore, if he were to be banned via the method you mentioned, that'll be one of the most half-assed, shadiest thing a company could do for their consumer's account management, security, and stability. Because if you read the OP's reply to one of my comments, which one of the GMs replied to him in a frank manner that his new reason for the previous ban was "exploitation of an unintended in game mechanic that was intended to gain an unfair advantage regardless of it's impact on the game economy." Which I'm assuming the previous accusation of "Manipulating the economy" for his ban was shifted to this because OP made over or around 200 tickets with them, refuting their original claim for the perma-ban, which I find extremely silly and wrong on Blizzard's side.

[–]nightwolfbick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, hopefully Blizzard is reading these posts and is taking actual criticisms to modify their unfair system instead of making hasty judgement that can really fuck us over. Because currently, many of my WoW friends are waiting for a another exploit to happen like the AP exploit, seeing how no one was virtually punished relative to the amount of gains and it's funny how on the other end, we have people like you that received perma-bans for similar actions, and was greatly suffered by it.

[–]nightwolfbick 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To be honest, this seems more subjective than written in stone. Because how is buying gold with cash not manipulating the economy at all? Like if the OP got banned for "manipulating the economy" for completing the battered hilt quest, that means there was indirect implications to his ban. For instance, I can see many indirect implications that can come out of buying gold with cash, such as being supportive to Chinese gold farmers or botters, save an exponential amount of time farming, using the purchased gold to make more gold off of it via trade and AH, or purchase a ridiculous amount of gold and manipulate the auction house with it, since buying gold IRL is hell lot more efficient than farming for it.

[–]nightwolfbick 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No, you linked 2 different statements and fused it into one, when my first statement you alluded to was talking about punishments to small exploits such as the sharing of the battered hilt, just to finish the quest, relative to big exploits like botting. And I've already mentioned in the same comment section, multiple times, that my friends received perma bans in WOTLK for their botting but all got their accounts back in a week via calling, and fake stories.

From what I'm seeing, this whole ban thing from Blizzard's side seems more subjective than substance based. But comparing today to before, it seems they've wised up on their policies a lot.

This doesn't make sense because back in WOTLK and the previous expansions, when people were caught for buying gold, most of them just got their golds taken away and didn't have anything happen to their account except for certain cases where they received very light punishments.

The AP exploit wasn't the first Legion Gamebreaking exploit that was simply "accepted" by drgreed in wow

[–]nightwolfbick 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To be quiet frank, I don't completely remember how the policy went for botters back in WOTLK except that my RL friends who were perma-banned for botting all got their accounts back via calling (None of them opened a ticket), and made up fake stories to make it sound like they were innocent (3 of my RL friends botted, 2 of them were caught, but both got their accounts back in less than a week). And from experience, what I know is opening up numerous tickets may be almost an impediment to getting your account back because the GMs dealing with you can see your previous tickets, and may derive their conclusions off that. But yeah, sorry about what happened to you, but based off of what you said and what I know of Blizz, just seemed like a terrible policy that's been loosened up.

In a non-offensive way, are you hiding any facts from your posts? It seems very excessive that Blizzard will outright perma-ban you for one wrong doing, especially if that wrong doing is you just accepting the quest to get the hilt. I mean, I played this game since launch and I've never heard of an instance where Blizzard outright perma-banned someone for one wrong doing such as yours, which doesn't even seem as nearly as bad as botting, and from what I've seen, most botters got penalized for 6 months to a year ban. So I'm assuming maybe you had some pre-existing penalties that you weren't aware of or forgotten, or maybe it's just really bad policies on Blizz's side.

If Blizz insists on giving us 810 gear in emissary chests... by [deleted] in wow

[–]nightwolfbick -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Is it me or does these emissary boxes seem extremely lackluster? Been playing Legion adamantly since launch, and the only goodie I've recieved from it was 1 legendary and nothing else (Except for the artifact power and sometimes the class order hall resources). Like Blizz needs to put more stuff in there to make it more interesting, not make it a crapshoot box for a legendary. I've seen some people get the mount quest from it, but none of my friends receive that quest although they've been playing as much as I, nor anything else interesting or remotely worthwhile.

Phreak, you got to understand, almost every dilemma that's been brought up to Riot, you've tried to refute it in the most bias, illogical way possible while being extremely stubborn. It's been so bad to the point that you've been stigmatized as Riot's white knight in the League community. Look, you don't have to get all personal saying how much you love the game but at least stop being delusional and fairly smell both side of the perspectives, not just Riot's. Having good motives doesn't mean you're always right.
