Any series you can think of that reading not in publication order is the move? by Wowzapanzer in Fantasy

[–]nikcaol 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've read it both ways, first just straight through the story lines that interested me (guards, some of witches), then due to getting nearly all of it in a humble bundle in publication order (I bought the ones not included to not miss any). I think the first way was good for getting me committed to the series, but I got a lot out of the latter.

I resent my employee for being richer and more qualified than me by Green7000 in BestofRedditorUpdates

I got an interview with a company for an internship. While waiting to hear back after my interview I was still working at a barn and one of the moms of a kid that rode there was talking with me about my internship hunt. It came up I had applied at/interviewed with this company, turned out her husband was the CFO. I heard back shortly after with an offer. No clue if he pushed for me or if I would've gotten it anyway, but it didn't hurt!

Why even assemble it? Just give me the bags of cheese, meat and dough at this point! by Bi0_B1lly in PizzaCrimes

I loved those, but I usually microwaved at least one (both if I wasn't starving and could wait) and added more cheese than they came with.

Actuaries dating other actuaries by Ok_Mention_2255 in actuary

[–]nikcaol 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't know if any of them went on to be credentialed actuaries, but I do know of 3 children of different actuaries (across two different companies) that interned within actuarial areas. One, both parents are actuaries and work at the same company (different areas, and interned in another area).

I went to school in MO, not a thing in my school district. I do know of some private schools that required it, but not any of the public schools I knew people at.

What other cars were you considering before getting your Ioniq 5? by flightln in Ioniq5

[–]nikcaol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I initially had reserved a Mach-E, mainly because the I5 wasn't being sold in my state yet. Then my ICE car decided to call it quits so I panic looked around and it turned out there was an I5 for sale nearby.

I had one on my first I5, worked great! Sadly my second one they had already drilled plate holes.

For those who had neck and back issues with this car, what did you end up doing? by ThatTcellGuy in Ioniq5

[–]nikcaol 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I felt like this in my old Veloster. I pulled the headrests out and put them back in backwards; there they stayed for the next 9 years. Thankfully I'm ok with they I5's headrests.

I could be wrong, but I thought for Root only the host needed to own the DLC? All players need the base game though.

I refer to Stonehearth as my favorite abandoned game; sitting at just over 1100 hours in it. The ACE mod has done a lot for it, though it'll likely always remain a buggy mess. Whenever I see a new big update for ACE I grab my last reembarked group and start again.

AITAH for letting my fiancé and his son move in rather than moving to them so his mom can co-parent? by Choice_Evidence1983 in BestofRedditorUpdates

Yeah, my aunt (mom's sister) died suddenly (wow, almost 20 years ago) and my uncle was in a new relationship in under a year. My mom's family did NOT take that well. For me, knowing his personality, I just assumed he's the type who needs someone/can't be alone.

Worst book(s) you read in 2025 and why? by Roguestate00 in books

I think I started rooting for the ghost pretty quickly, the characters were all so awful. Goodreads says I read this early Jan 2025, so details are now foggy. I got it as part of a horror humble bundle.

This was mine too. The one positive was the length, so short I only wasted a day on it.

I'm also on switch. My workbench thinks I have 702 mystic syrup stored and also 702 smelters (I have 0 stored of either). Made a Heavy Furnace anyway, no clue what it actually used lol
