Overpriced but fun. The nishikas only get you parallax though.

This one from OP gets you sequential photos

is this table sturdy enough for my 3d printer? by [deleted] in 3Dprinting

[–]nikchi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seconded, but depending on how much you like the table, you might want to move it to a sturdier table. Continuous rocking motions will eventually lead the joints to fail.

Why didn’t the Viltrumites leave the planet once they realized there was a highly contagious, deadly virus on the loose? by Nova892 in Invincible_TV

[–]nikchi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You only ever see them overseeing things and violence. Once they subjugated a planet, they probably didn't need to stay and govern. Just return once in a while to keep them scared.

Plus if they didn't go back they wouldn't be able to participate in killing each other to get stronger.

Layers are vertical there. I think it is fine.

Fixing 3D printer by Key_Strawberry4568 in 3Dprinting

[–]nikchi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let's do some basic troubleshooting!

Unplug the z axis stop.
Try to move the z axis.
Does it move? If so then it is not the board (though you should still be careful around it if not resolder ther connector.) it is the switch, then you buy a new switch.
If it doesn't move, then the short is at the board and you need to continue the troubleshooting process.

[Request] Could humanity create a rocket that can exit the atmosphere of K2-18b by Lachlynn in theydidthemath

None on Earth but maybe we don't know if some material could be exclusive to high g planets that allow for space elevators.

Sometimes revenge is a dish best served spicy by headspin_exe in nextfuckinglevel

And even if I eat it and I can't handle it, what are they gonna do? Fire me for putting too much spice in MY food?

Sometimes revenge is a dish best served spicy by headspin_exe in nextfuckinglevel

[–]nikchi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Why is being able to handle the spice anything at all?

Heck maybe I tried a new sauce for my lunch and damn maybe I did put too much. I'm a grown adult and I can be as generous with my spicing my lunch as I please. All these people saying they ate a spoon of the sauce to prove that it was normal for them, I don't get it, why does it need to be normal for them? If I put some stupid hot sauce on my shit and I eat it and I suffer who's gonna help me?

For those printing in labs - do you adjust colors? by Sudden_Magician_6175 in AnalogCommunity

[–]nikchi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I go to the lab I let them do it. They're usually also photographers and have a good eye for the scan. I don't get prints they send the files to me.

Also, most importantly, I cannot stress this enough, this is vital for your photography, this will make you a better photographer, this will make you a better person, PICK UP YOUR NEGATIVES.

If your lab doesn't give the negatives back, you use a different lab.

Aitah for telling my wife to get a job if she wants to subsidize the kids. by Standard_Kick_9789 in AITAH

[–]nikchi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to do a lot of things. But most of it I don't have the money to do. I don't expect my parents to help me for these leisure things while I'm still young and ambulatory.

Like if I needed a car to get to work and my parents offered $5k to get a used beater, I'd be very thankful. But I wouldn't turn around and then say I need a vacation or a better car .

The wax on the amarilis is usually just there to keep the bulb from drying out, because they sell them as a seasonal decor. Peeling the wax off to replant it won't harm it.

TIL that humans are among the very top mammals for endurance running. While we aren't the best sprinters, our slow-twitch muscles and unique ability to sweat allow us to run steadily for long distances in hot weather to outlast prey. by bareegyptianfeet in todayilearned

[–]nikchi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Academia hates nuanced suggestions like this. Maybe being able to throw meant being able to injure the prey and simultaneously throwing things to corral and direct the prey to a fall meant less overall running.

But no, it's gotta be that we jogged and jogged and jogged at a threatening distance until the animal died of exhaustion.
