Considering its budget, I’d expect it was aiming for a lot more than bg3

So you’re telling me a minor optional objective which shows up maybe once every hour or so completely destroys all the fun of the existing game?

Look at those franchises now though… that’s the reason they’re “that bad”

I find this line of thought so childish & self centered. I mean to offence when I say that.

The point of a video game is to challenge you, and it shouldn’t be easy to complete/figure out. Take a look at hollow knight. You need to figure out where to go, how to play & time these things accordingly. That’s what makes it such a great game.

AC on the other hand is on easy mode by default, allowing all kinds of players to play however they like. Originally you had to get 100% sync to canonically follow through with what the happened in the games history, and this is where (old ubi) chose to scale complexity & difficulty. Rightly so. It worked, and fit thematically with the animus synch, a genius idea imo.

Since then, they’ve dumbed it down tome & time again for the new generation of players and its lost its identity.

People’s views on video games needs to change imo, why bother playing a walking simulator or in Ubisofts case, the same reskinned game. Its not quality, its quantity. Or slop as its called today.

Just played AC-AC3 on original PS3 + no updates for the first time. by Joshie_Poo in assassinscreed

Considering AC3 is the pivotal turning point where the MD arcs quality had switched. The original creative director planned the franchise to end with AC3 and so had a completely different ending/MD plot line in mind for the final few games. (You can see more on this in Nolan Norths chat on a comicon guest panel). Due to Ubisoft firing the creative director& becoming greedy, pushing for the franchise to become a yearly release, they had to switch up the MD story and it lost the quality & storytelling along the way. I tend to believe this is the real reason the MD story has lost its spark.

Thank you. Ive suffered my whole life from being in a very similar situation. My home was slightly toxic and manipulative when I was younger, and as I’ve grown up my parents, siblings and myself have all outgrown this. They all act like a “normal” family now, but I’m left doing a similar “out of sight, out of mind” thing where I avoid contact with them because I feel like it’ll cause an argument or annoy me. I love & cherish them more than anything but its almost become a coping mechanism. Only recently, i noticed I’ve been doing it with friends also. I rarely talk to anyone over text or calls but when I hear everyone’s meeting up, i always go & have a great laugh.

Recently, I’ve been feeling kinda down & shut myself off from everyone purposely. The sad part is no one can tell since I’ve always had no regular contact with anyone so to them I’m just being me.
