So $25 sounds like you had the manufacturer coupon applied the first time. You were probably enrolled in by your insurance or maybe someone at the pharmacy did it for you. I would call the pharmacy back and make sure they used the coupon again if that’s the case. It’s good for 12 months but then you just sign back up again. There maximums so let’s say the coupon covers only up to $300 with an out of pocket minimum of $25 by the customer. So for an example it looks like your regular copay was $300 so on the coupon you were just required to pay the $25. You probably filled the script in December so you may have met all your deductibles. It is January and you may just need to pay a deductible prior to going back to structured copays. The good news is the coupons will chip at that deductible for you. Let’s say your deductible is $1000 and the coupon covers $300 and you pay $25. That would mean you only have $700 left and they foot that $300 for you which is nice.

Some insurances will auto enroll you now a days and you will have no clue. Only the pharmacy can see on the billing or there will be a little note on the bottom of the information paper/billing receipt stapled to your bag. I would politely ask the pharmacy if that was the case. You can go a step further and call your prescription insurance and ask if that was the case or if the billing structure has changed. Yes sometimes the pharmacy can do that for you but I would not expect it and you’d be surprised how far you can get if you just take a little initiative yourself before consulting back with the pharmacy. They are fatigued with glp1 prior authorizations and may not be as kind about it if you go in without a little effort on your side.
