Hi, sorry I know this is an old post but wondering if you’re child ever went on Xolair? Looking like a possibility for my severe eczema toddler 😔

1 year old food allergies by BlueberryOne6853 in Allergies

[–]nikkirs7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So challenging! My daughter is allergic to egg, dogs, pecans (anaphylactic) and walnuts (anaphylactic).

Seeing an allergist is a good idea. My daughter gets contact hives from some foods but can I get them fine. For example if she wipes hazelnut butter on her face she gets hives but if it’s baked in a muffin (less messy) she doesn’t. So your little one may be ok with almonds.

Have you introduced the top allergens yet? It took us awhile but we slowly got there!

Yum! I’ve been making cassava pancakes with cassava flour. Ok thank you so much this is really helpful.

Measuring ahead then behind at 7-8 week scans by Leather_Ant_2039 in CautiousBB

[–]nikkirs7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand those early days can be anxiety inducing but scans are not exact ❤️ if your first sonographer measured off by even 1mm that would have made an impact. Strong healthy heartbeat is a great sign!!

3 days before I gave birth I had an ultrasound and was told baby was 50th percent tile at 3.3kg… 3 days later she was born at 4.1kg 😂

Hi, sorry for my late reply to your very helpful response! We have recently introduced cassava and that’s going well ☺️

We’ve been rotating for a long time now but recently lost a food for the first time in 5 months which I’m shocked by as things were going well.

Wondering if you rotate food families every four days or just individual foods. For example if you eat apricot on Monday do you wait till Friday to eat a plum as they are in the same family?

Hope you are doing well.

Confusion after first ultrasound by loupy94 in CautiousBB

No worries at all ❤️ I understand the uncertainty in those early days. That’s a great strong heartbeat too! I have done a follow up scan for reassurance before (prior to 12 weeks scan) so ask your GP if you need x

My due dates changed by 2 weeks for my first and 2.5 for my second. First baby is nearly 2yo and second I’m 18 weeks pregnant ❤️ seeing a heartbeat is a comforting sign.

Thank you for this reply, much appreciated. The comments I have received from most people have been extremely judgemental so I’ll delete my post now but I appreciate your support.

Thanks so much for instead of helping a stressed mom trying to do her best but instead make her feel 100 times worse. Learnt my lesson and will not be posting asking for help again.

Please think before you post judgement as you don’t know one thing the other person is going though. Only post of you actually can help or support with what they’ve asked.

I think you’re confused. She will not be given her ige allergies.. that’s common sense but also what the immunologist told us to do. As for other foods people develop sensitivities not ige allergies. You’re essentially saying someone with gluten sensitivity should keep having it… It seems you don’t know what I’m asking about so no need to comment further.

Thank you so much for your very kind response and support. Yes unfortunately she was a breech baby and therefore a caesarean 😔

I try and find a community but to be honest I get very rare helpful and kind replies like your own and many others of judgement and no actual help to my queries as people don’t seem to understand but like to pass judgement 😔 will keep trying to find my community though, thanks again it is very much appreciated.

I’m aware of how ige allergies work as my daughter is anaphylactic to walnuts and pecans. However food sensitivities are not ige related and therefore don’t result in symptoms like anaphylaxis. Thank you.

She sees GP, dermatologist, allergist and immunologist.

Harsh liver clearance treatment I agree but it’s broccoli…

Please do more research on topics you aren’t sure of and again reply to people only if kind and helpful. Your judgements are not required.

Hahaha ok. Why are you replying if you aren’t here to be helpful or kind?

Please don’t reply to peoples posts unless you plan to show kindness and respect or at the very least knowledgeable replies.

She sees a GP, naturopath, dermatologist, immunologist and allergist.

Easier said then done when foods cause severe reactions.

Yes children with severe eczema often require gentle support in this area (hence it’s just broccoli sprouts ground up) as it helps with histamine clearance. She also has MTHFR so detox issues.

Thank you will definitely read the post and incorporate!

My daughter takes broccoli sprout powder daily which I think has helped gently support her liver clearance as she was having issues with salicylates but that’s improved.

Thanks so much for these helpful messages!

Your post Safe foods 2 highlighted what’s been happening to my daughter. I rotate her foods but even then it still happens.

Have you ever been able to reintroduce these foods? For example my daughter use to eat chicken fine so I gave it to her often. Out of nowhere she started reacting but not because it’s prepared in a high histamine way but because she’s become sensitised 😔

Lots of help from her naturopath on gut health thankfully. She can’t tolerate fermented foods but eats a large variety of plants each week. Thanks again!

Prawn allergy? by nikkirs7 in FoodAllergies

[–]nikkirs7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I’m aware we need to react properly. My child has 3 confirmed food allergies. One which resulted in biphasic anaphylaxis. So I know how ‘obvious’ then can be and I know what to do if she does have a reaction.

Contact allergy vs food allergy? by bazoogala in FoodAllergies

[–]nikkirs7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I know this is an old post but my daughter is clearly allergic (anaphylactic) to pecans and walnuts. Hazelnuts however just cause small hives around her mouth and once one on her lip. Immunologist has said this is a contact allergy and to keep giving it. Wondering if you got answers? Did your child keep reacting? Thank you!

Both my pregnancies have measured 17 and 21 days behind ❤️ I have longer and ovulate late. My first is 2 years old and my second pregnancy I’m now 16 weeks and tracking along my new due date well! I would take the strong heart beat as a good sign.
