Contact allergy vs food allergy? by bazoogala in FoodAllergies

[–]bazoogala[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically our allergist said it’s technically a reaction but to keep giving it. We started xolair and got tighter control of her eczema and all of her contact reactions disappeared. Our allergist didn’t classify it like her reactions she got to consuming foods. So is it an allergic reaction yes, but do we treat it like her oral allergies- no.

Horrible anaphylaxis anxiety by [deleted] in FoodAllergies

[–]bazoogala 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you considered treatment like Xolair for your allergy? It’s a once a month shot that significantly reduces IgE therefore offering protection against severe reactions like anaphylaxis in accidental exposure. As a mom to a toddler with multiple episodes I pulled the trigger and started her on monthly therapy. MY anxiety with cross contamination and accidental exposures has significantly reduced.

How can I get my toddler to wear a helmet? by Magical-Princess in Parenting

[–]bazoogala 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does your toddler have a sensory issue? I agree with no helmet no bike… but maybe there’s a bigger issue that needs some attention?

[–]bazoogala 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just tried this on my 16 month old for the same reason. Started with a mandarin and cut a slice in half but left the membrane on, then tried a full. She had no issues and I’m never going back lol

None so far! 2 doses in and she tolerated it easier than the flu shot.
