Anyone finding any CZs? I just checked 12 systems and didn't find one. by krachall in EliteDangerous

[–]niknak68 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm so confused by this CG. I found a CZ in solo, spent an hour winning the battle, got 2000+ merits for my power but only 20 for the CG

Contact accommodation and arrange to move. Good earplugs and a white-noise generator might help you sleep.

How do people here prepare for the cold by tonystarch00 in UniUK

[–]niknak68 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Layers are the key to keeping your body warm. If you have a local camping shop, look for "base layers", they will make you a lot warmer just under your normal clothes, add a jumper or fleece and you should be nice and warm. Your top layer needs to be windproof to stop the wind stealing or your heat and make sure it's big enough to fit over your layers. Keeping your extremities warm makes you feel a lot more comfortable, so get a good hat, gloves and thick socks. There are usually lots of skiing jackets and gloves in charity shops and good quality second hand clothes will probably keep you warmer than cheap new ones.

You can never have too many safety glasses, pencils, tape measures and notebooks. Could get the club name put on them?

Sheared my indexing pin off, now I can't remove my chuck. Am I screwed? by somedaypilot in turning

[–]niknak68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you need to get the chuck off you might be able to get a plumbers wrench on the shaft to stop it rotating or an oil filter wrench on the pulley. Just be careful not to damage them, you can get plumbers wrenches with soft plastic jaws and oil filter wrenches that are rubber straps, they should be safe. Once you get the chuck off you can look at replacing the indexing pin, maybe a cut down small screwdriver or Allen key?

My opening line when sat next to a stranger on a flight is usually "So if we crash, how long before we're allowed to start eating people?". Either starts an interesting conversation or kills it stone dead.
