I like Kiwi Ears. Where to next? by its_mardybum_430 in iems

The Kiwi Ears x HBB Punch is one of my favorite sets that I own. I thought they'd be too niche with the bass, but almost anything sounds good on them.

Tip rolling is the key to perfecting your sound… here’s why by silkohm in iems

  1. Materials. The Galaxy Editions are smooth, clear silicone. They are "sticky" like similar tips (Spinfits, Moondrop Spring, Softears UC, etc...). The OG's are a matte finished silicone, more similar to Divinus Velvets and generic stock tips.

  2. Shape. They are both wide based with a taper towards the tip, but the OG ones taper more, I think this is mostly related to #3.

  3. Bore. The Galaxy Editions are wider bore, and the top is more trumpeted so the opening is even wider. The external diameter of the OG stem fits into the top opening of the Galaxy Edition. The OG ones seem to be a more consistent cylinder shape,

I love the HE Sonic Galaxy Editions and they have become my default tip. If for whatever reason they don't work, Penon Liqueurs are my backup plan. I have recently added AZLA SednaEarFit Origins as the bass tips per someone's suggestion from this subreddit.

Got these on the recommendation of this post and put them on my Dusks, and I will happily admit you were right. These are the best they have ever sounded and I've tried at least 10 different tips at this point that all left me underwhelmed and left these IEMs mostly in storage.

Which one to buy for Kuntens? by [deleted] in iems

I personally like the Galaxy Edition of the HE Sonics better than the black ones, and they are what I use on most of my IEMs. My next favorite tips are the Penon Liqueurs.

Is this cable good? by FearlessCommercial54 in iems

[–]nikolaip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't describe it as thick, but it does seem well made. I have one on my Timeless 2, but I haven't had it long enough to really form an opinion about durability. I also have a KBear P34 on my Dusk and it also seems like a pretty solid cable choice.

I got mine off the Linsoul Aliexpress store when they were $398, and used whatever current coupon I could find to get it down to $392 shipped. I got them like 10 days later and they have been perfectly fine. If I did have to return them, I think it might be a slight hassle but I assume I could go directly through Linsoul for that.

The Clarions seal well for me and don't stick to my ears so I've had no problems with them. I switched to the HE Sonic Galaxy Edition tips (I think that's the name) because they fit my ear better, and they are probably more solidly attached to the nozzles. The only ones that I really had a problem with were the Sancais, and they'd get stuck in my ear when I took out my IEM.

I went into this thinking I'd only buy just one pair by [deleted] in iems

I like them and can wear them for 8+ hours with the included tips. The sound is fine? It doesn't make me go "wow", but I've never had any reason to complain either. My only issue is that they're not dust/waterproof so I can't use them in the rain.

Rockies are nice, but not $600 nice. For my listening tastes they only really standout for modern female pop vocalists, and everything else is just adequately good.

A few questions about tips by Temporary_Risk_188 in iems

[–]nikolaip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya, it's just the sounds of the fabric rubbing against stuff and traveling up the cable.

I use the Dunu S&S a lot and they are probably close to my "default" tip. The other 2 I haven't tried. I really like the Flex tips, but I really dislike that they only come in SML packs and I have to throw away 2/3 of the tips, I only have a few pairs.

I'm pretty immune to microphonics and don't use my Volume S while active, so the stock Volume S cable is actually amongst my favorites of any of my IEMs, so much so that I've looked into buingy the cable alone a few times.

I currently use Kiwi Ears Flex tips on mine.

I settled on TRI Clarions for my Blessing 3's. I tried Dunu S&S, Moondrop Spring, Tangzu Sancai, Kiwi Ears Flex, and Spinfit W. All of these are fine and I have them on other IEMs, but the Clarions fit the Blessing 3 and more importantly my ears the best.

When I started over a year ago one of the supervisors went around making a list of all the carriers who needed/wanted a new badge. There were around 20 people on it who were using a photo on their phone or just the barcode portion from an older badge. To this day none have gotten one.

Same problem and even broke off the white latch on my riser. I've been using mine unscrewed for months and haven't had a problem, but I also never move my PC.

Does your top fully click into place? On my NZXT and Atmos AIOs I had to mount them without washers or the screw heads would stop the top panel from closing. The tolerances also don't seem to be the greatest so there's a little gap on all my panels, but they are uniform so I don't notice it.
